Morning all. I've just remembered something we did at school,( many moons ago}. We were told to create a shop name and logo. I drew a big web and called my shop Spider's Web. It's just come to me that that is what supermarkets are and we are all the flies they entrap. Just imagine next time you want to go in an SM when you don't need to that there's a giant spider in there just waiting to grab all your cash off you. 'shudder'
I've got a bit lost with my updating, just going to add up all my spends.

I am planning a NSD today.....no idea if I will make it but it is so hot out and every route that takes me to a shop is in full sunshine all the way, and my pale skin and sun dont mix well (not even with SPF 50)
I did loads of housework yesterday so the place looks okay for a change (and DGS only here overnight so less time to undo my hard work).
Had Sultana Bran for brekkie.
Lunch will probably the last of LO cold rice, Jersey Royals and ham......maybe some of JJ's cheesey bread that I have in the freezer.
Tea.......well I noticed 1/2 a mozzarrella (sp?) ball and some dried up grated cheese in the fridge, so thinking HM pizza maybe?
I have tomato paste in fridge, onion and peppers in the freezer and I think there might be 2 slices of dried up bacon lurking in the fridge :T
Thinking a scone type base (I have avoided yeast lately and feel better for it)......could I use JJ's bread as the base?
Leave out the cheese and roll it thin?
Cannot think why not.....
Or does anyone have a pizza base recipe they would recommend?
Many thanks!0 -
I've been a bit slack in the posting and adding up this month, but it's better than it would have been if it wasn't for this thread! I'm declaring at £268.36 for May which isn't too bad for me. I was hoping to keep it at £200 but had an upper limit of £350 (£400 if really pushed) so £269 isn't too much of a shocker especially as I shopped at 2 new places this month (Lidl and Iceland) which always means I spend more on 'trying things out'! Can anyone point me to the new June thread please?
And just as a quick update, the pregnancy seems to be going well and I have my first scan on the 15th June! Yay!0 -

Hi everyone,
Glorious day here in Kent. Just finished work for today (I'm a gardener :j) and wanted to update my totals. Have gone over this month but I'm okay with that. Things are looking brighter here financially since DH secured a new job (out of work for 7 months) earning a lot more than before. I still like to budget, and am careful to stretch meals and keep lo's. My second purse has been a Godsend - if you don't yet have one do take a look at the thread specifically for this.
I cooked for 200 at church yesterday (Pentecost celebration lunch) but still managed to forego a takeaway and cook for the family last night :A We had pasta bake and salad, using DR mince and I topped it with lo cheese slices from the church function - nom nom nom. I also came home with about 30 pain au choc/croissants which I've frozen
DS2 has Cubs tonight and it's an hour earlier than normal as they are celebrating the jubilee with a party. Will give him something on toast before he goes, as otherwise he will be STARVING.......

however I'm clearly way too late, the one you made looks lovely, what did you use for the base in the end?
I borrowed someone else's idea yesterday and used up a sad apple in bm to make cinnamon & apple bread - superb! :j I thought I'd ruined it because when I peered into the bm the dough looked far too wet but it worked well, it's lovely and light and I'm having it for lunch nowThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
