Wow. Angelatgraceland, that Amish cooking link is awesome!

Really great ideas. I also love the ethos of living simply from the land. I am in love with the whole self sufficiency lifestyle and am always keen to improve where possible.

    Thanks for sharing:beer:

I used my new panny to make a pizza dough - so much easier than doing it by hand! Shove the ingredients in, and come back 45 mins later! Nice!

It's currently on now, baking a normal bread. I do like a cheese and onion one though, which I do by using normal mix, and adding some grated cheese and dried onions. Lush!

Hi PG - my OH and I are having a continuing debate about getting a BM. He says that it will be another thing to clog up the side/cupboard, the bread you make is smaller than a shop bought loaf so we will need more than one loaf a day - what do you think?

    Thanking you in advance :T

NSD today. Had leftover cold salmon with LO potato salad with LO Greek salad (the same as yesterday basically!) for dinner. Lunch was a more wintry meal - had a YS beef casserole with dumpling ready meal from the freezer.

Tomorrow will be another NSD. I'll have the rest of the salmon/most of the potato salad/the rest of the Greek salad for lunch.

Dinner will be sausages (have too many of these - I'm going to take them off my next online shop I think!) with broccoli, 2 potato rosti's (1 each) bought from Ikea a while back which need using up plus the very last of the potato salad! :D

Also need to do another thanks to Suffolk Lass for the potato salad recipe! Amazing that it's lasted so many meals and it's so much better knowing I can do it with normal potatoes rather than buying the more expensive new potatoes! I'm going to try a curried mayo one next time :j

In the past few days I have spent £1 in Mr T's, £5.82 in Mr S, £1 in £1 shop and £3 in I*el*nd. Taking my dad shopping tomorrow after his hearing test, so will probably get a few bits then, but must be careful so I can come in on budget.

  • Sorry i have not posted since last week.

Just a little update on whats been happening :)
I decided that i would do Thursday-Monday so far.
    Thursday NSD
Friday Mr T £15.48 (went down to the caravan with my little family and felt really guilty spending that money?)
Saturday 2.20 on 2 icecreams for the kids ..... Mum and dad paid for our meal out.
Sunday main meal at mum and dads on way home..... (NSD)

Last week £17.68/ £25.00 (7.32 into my savings jar)

    NDS 2/7

    Fresh week this week:

Monday - NSD made Shepherds Pie bulked it out with Lentils, Oats & Veg frozen enough for a second meal (already in freezer.)

Meal planned for tomorrow chicken dinner, will also make the curry for Wednesday and use the bones and whats in the cupboards to make chicken soup. Will have to get some potato's that is it though :) which is good as i have just been awarded Healthy start vouchers so that is £3.10 a week which i can spend on milk, fruit and veg.

Should i now reduce the £25.00 budget as i get the 3.10 a week down to £21.90 or do i count it as a blessing?
    1% challenge £2015.50 = £20.16
    Make £2.50 a day £80.82/77.50
Sealed pot opening Nov 2018: ???

I would treat it as a bonus and have it on top of your budget and then if helps you save a bit more of your weekly budget, that makes it a double bonus! :D

I would second this, a little bit extra is always good if yo spot any whoopsies.

Me to PG, trying to cut cals though so been making bread without cheese when I can and using herb combos for flavour instead. A favourite in our house is sage & onion bread it goes great with chicken sarnies and makes a really tasty beans on toast! When my Morphy Richards fastbake dies I want a Panny, had the MR for 6 years now though and it refuses to break lol! I also do a basil and garlic bread as a dough and then make it into baguette shapes to have with pasta and do garlic and rosemary focaccia dough and finish it off in the oven.

  • Morning all, its glorious here. Hope its nice where you are. Have decided my budget is going to be £90 for June, this is to run from today until June 30th, this is to include everything, food, alcohol, toiletries, etc. I am going to give myself a little buffer of £40, as its my birthday at the end of the month and my twins birthday in about a week, just in case i need it.
