    Good morning!!
Don't forget your 64p bacon (it was cheaper than I thought!) at Lidl. Also, Branston beans are 4 for £1 today and vine tomatoes are 99p a KILO in Lidl this weekend only. Get yet skates on and get down there!!!! Stick up whilst you can.

    Enjoy your day today, peeps.

I did that - unfortunately I also bought £45.01 of stuff and then went to Mr T to buy some stuff I had to get for another...£29.12...

so budget well and truly blown and still 8 days to go.

But I have bought food for those 8 days already. Except cat litter, Mr T was out of value stuff and wasn't going to buy more expensive brand for the cats to just poo on. I guess they will have to have a litter tray filled with shredded paper till June. Or cross their legs.

I was hoping for a peaceful afternoon but both my Daughters, their Husbands and my Grandchildren decided to pay us a visit. They ended up staying all afternoon so I had to feed them. I had been to the butchers this morning and got 4lb of mince that I hadn't got round to bagging up so I decided to make some burgers. I had some rolls in the freezer that would have been for DH's pack up for the week [he will have bread instead now]. I chopped and cooked some onions, mixed them in with mince, breadcrumbs, egg and I added some barbecue sauce. They were a big hit but unfortunately there was only enough for one each and everyone was still hungry so I made a couple of 2 minute microwave treacle sponges, again another big hit.
They have all gone home stuffed to the brim and wanting to know when I will be repeating the menu.

  • Hi I've been MIA for a while as I've been catching up with cleaning, gardening and enjoying myself since finishing my exams ;). However, I've been keeping up with my receipts so I know that I've spent £330.88/£320 for this month - a bit over but not too bad, as it's still a lot less than I used to spend.

Next month I need to get back to baking (not that I have done much before but I did at least do a little bit) and careful budgeting. I'm finding that now I don't have a car during the week as DH has started new job and needs it, that I can't get to Lidl so I'm spending more :(. I need to get hints and tips for managing budgets without Lidl ;).

    What a glorious day :j

I had a blind 1st date this morning....just a casual drink and chat....

Now if you are aged 78, why say you are 66???

It's not the age difference I object to (I am 52) just the lack of honesty.

I am beginning to despair of ever meeting a new man who doesnt lie! :(

    Back to the GC....:D

So fed up after I spent £7.14 in Sainsbods on indulgent junk food in an effort to cheer myself up :o:o:o

I have plenty of LO's still LO so they will be todays food.....and possibly a Cornetto or 3.....:rotfl:

Hello Mrs AtS. Does your DH work near Lidl? Would he follow a shopping list or is it too dangerous? ;) Could you go once a week instead? I've found a big difference in our shopping since making a list and only going once a week. HTH. :)

Just a thought but very often the best offers are on at the weekend, could you do your shop on a saturday morning?

    Hi all

I am really pleased as just finished updating this months GC excel spreadsheet as new start from tomorrow and we have spent 260.87 our budget for the month was 300. .

Pre finding this thread and actually thinking about what we are spending/eating we were spending way more than double what we have this month.

Thanks for all the great advice, im now off to join the June thread.
