Had a lovely dinner today with my friend. We had a big pizza, garlic bread, followed by rhubarb crumble. All hm, cost less than £2 for a feast for the two of us! Lovin it!!

I'm working my way through the fridge and freezer this weekend, while the ch are with their dad. Still haven't made the meal plan for next week yet, but that'll be another job to do this weekend, along with the shopping and the housework. Such fun!!

    Good morning!!

The sun and the birds are calling me outside to work on the garden.
I have pulled out an assortment of HM ready meals for myself and the kids so I don't have to cook again today. Will just nuke em when we are hungry!

Don't forget your 64p bacon (it was cheaper than I thought!) at Lidl. Also, Branston beans are 4 for £1 today and vine tomatoes are 99p a KILO in Lidl this weekend only. Get yet skates on and get down there!!!! Stick up whilst you can.

    Enjoy your day today, peeps.

Yay!! I got 21, yes, 21 packs of bacon!!!!

The kids came to help me as it is usually limited to number per customer. Will take some to mums though.

Don't have to go tomorrow now. The tomatoes are really great too!

I'm heading off to lidl as soon as I've dropped the children off at their dad's at 10am. We're just having breakfast now, dd is already dressed, just me and ds to go. I realised today that I'm managing to do what I'd planned with the cereal, which is use them up until there are only 3 or 4 on the shelf. I have 7, which is a vast improvement on 14!!! I kid you not. Once I get down to my goal of 3 or 4, I shall have more space on the shelf, and may be able to reorganise my pantry again. Why do I have 12 tins of soup in there, for example?! It's only me that eats those flavours, as the children only like tom soup, so when was I thinking I would get through them? I got them because they were a bargain, but they're not if I'm not eating them!

I'm feeling quite organised/in charge/whatever today, so will def be sticking to my guns when I go shopping. There are only certain things I will now allow myself to stock up on, and even then, only to a reasonable level. Eg, the beans today in lidl, I will get 3 packs, as 12 will keep us going for ages, and by then there will be another offer anyway. Bacon is also something we use a bit, so I'll get five packs. I will then split them in half before freezing, so I can make a meal for me/them, or a meal for us all by getting out two packs.

Still not made a meal plan, that's the plan for the next hour, before going out shopping!!!

Have a great day all, catch you later!

I'm out in the garden again today - decluttering and potting up seedlings and cuttings.

First few strawb flowers caught a touch of frost  but hopefully that risk is over now. Cherry toms are in a big pot and doing fine. Standard toms are due to be potted up now, too. Plum, Greengage and Apricot trees, delivered in April, have woken up and are budding - hope it won't be 3 years before I can reap a harvest! Will be sowing Swiss Chard seeds again - brilliant veg - lasts right through the winter frosts. Also, doing a final re-pot of 6 Rosemay cuttings I took from a Mr M's cut pack in Feb and nurtured indoors. Will give some to family and friends. Will also plant 3 courgette plants that I had to buy (£1 for 3) because my planted seeds were nicked by hungry rodents!

May liberate a pork steak from the freezer for tonight and cut my potted crop of wild garlic leaves and flowers to wilt down in butter, to go with it.

Been living on salmon (med can) and cucumber sandwiches for the past 2 days cos gardening left me too tired to cook or even nuke! Also, I LURVE s&c sands, which are a special treat. :rotfl:

And what is this 'ironing' thing you're mentioning?!

Ah, they sound lovely! I'm jealous, as I always start loads of projects, and never finish them - I'm VERY right-brained!

I ditched ironing when I had my 5 children at home - if it needed ironing, it wasn't bought! :T Nowadays, my iron only gets an outing about every 2 years - for a single item!

Craft projects and right-brain - I have managed (finally) to become REALLY disciplined - I won't allow myself to start the next thing, before finishing the current one! It feels SO good. BUT, that still doesn't prevent me adding to my stash!
