Hi everyone - I have not managed to keep up with the thread at all this month :o. Hope you're enjoying the sun:D

Blaming Maisie's arrival (new dog) but she's away for the next 2 weeks so will promise to do better in June (see the thread's up & running already:)).

Anyway - just back from Mr T (not one of my favourite places as some of you may know) as had a 5p off fuel coupon (and Dinky was on fumes) and a £6 off £40 MOC which was too much to pass up.

Was struggling to think how I was going to get to £40 as didn't really need a lot, but found a kettle reduced from £15 to £10 and, as mine's been leaking for a while & is now being *difficult* about whether it turns on or not ... really time I got a new one!

I HATE spending money on things like that!:o (but it does come out the house appliance budget :D). Also got some teabags for work (£4 but got loads as they were 1/2 price;)) and a few bits for dog/cats so ...... only £20.43 to add to the grocery total:j

Really struggle to find decent sliced meats at a reasonable price in Mr T:( - ended up with turkey which was £3:eek: - bit of a shock after Al*di's fantastic sliced turkey (and chicken) which is only £1.69 for  14 slices!

:j:jSo ..... have enough to last to the end of the month so .... declaring at £115.70/£130 :j:j (slightly more than the £100 I had been trying for but at least under budget) and the 1st time this year!:o

I love sliced turkey and hate paying the prices in tesco/ asda & half the time it doesnt look very nice. I like my meat not to have any bits in it if anyone knows what i mean and is just as picky:o. I shall have alook in aldi next time i go, which hopefully will be next saturday. Wish i knew what the super six was so i could plan my list for next week.

I know you can freeze risotto cakes made with left over risotto. Is it made with anything that might seperate. If its just made with stock & or wine i dont see any reason why not. It may be a bit stodgy when you defrost it. I havnt tried it as we are not big risotto eaters here maybe one or two times a year. Hence the risotto cakes.

It sounds nice, i suppose if the beans & mushrooms were chopped small there would be less of an issue with texture upon defrosting. I dont think it would affect the overall taste. I want risotto now, i have some risotto rice to use, what recipe did you use please.

Well done on being under, great feeling isnt it.

Re sliced meat, I havent bought this for so long now that I havent asny idea of prices. It has been so much cheaper for me to cook and slice my own. I do roast pork, beef, chicken, and gammon.
I bought a Kenwood meat slicer, and when I do a roast slice off a fewto have sandwichs or cold with salad or chips.
