Hey guys, long time no see! Had loads of various problems over the last couple of weeks, hence no posting.
OH has also been buying things but not getting receiots so the last lot of things he got came out of his own money :rotfl:hopefully that will teach him! He doesnt realise how important it is to get receipts and log everything! Although I am purposely not going to do a big shop until all the beans have been used up
So please take me off the May list as I havent a clue how much has been spent
Well done to those that have kept or nearly kept to budget! Not long to go until june now!May Grocery Challenge : 64.81 so far

Welcome and Hi to all the new people joining - nice to see you on here
Please post your budgets for June - I'm taking notes and I'll update the front page as soon as the new GC is up and running [usually around the 28th of the month]
Loving all the pictures, recipes and all the chat - its really good to see everyone interacting and helping each other out :]
Has anyone heard from Spiggle recently, she's gone very quiet!!
Helen x
Hi Helen, Spigs is chief recorder on the 2012 MFW thread (mortgage free wannabies) and active daily on there - I suspect she is too busy to keep up here as well. I caught up on here myself over yesterday evening and this morning but almost 150 posts since Monday meant I nearly gave up but I love the learning from each other part of this thread so I persevered!
Take care and thanks for maintaining the lists of participants.

Put the rolls in the fridge to prove. They still rise over night. Out on the worktop they might just get a life of their own and collapse.
You're right - they did :rotfl:
I thought about the fridge option. Even tried moving things around a bit but there was no way to make the space for a whole baking tray, let alone the 2 trays that i'd stretched it to. The kitchen is pretty cool in the evenings but it does get the morning sun. I was hoping to get in there early before it warmed up too much but the snooze button was too inviting
I think they look like a sort of cross between crisp-breads and pitta bread. OH thinks they should be used for bread&butter pudding. One way or another they'll be eaten, just not sliced for sandwiches or wrapped round tonights HM burgers
At least its given me incentive to take the last of the shop-bought bread from the freezer. Hasn't been touched since I got my BM at christmas. And that's made enough space to be able to empty and defrost the small freezer. Just got to work through the contents of the big freezer now so that that can be defrosted too!0 -
My budget for June is going to be £360"Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."Weight loss challenge:j: week 1~ Napoleon Bonaparte

left to spend £400

It's probably a bit soon for me to decide on a budget but I'm going to try for £200 for June (I get paid on the last day of the month so my challenge will run for the whole of June). If I go over it won't be the end of the world but my freezer and cupboards are full so it's worth a try. I can hear you thinking "2 adults and a cat that'll be easy" and I hope you're right! :rotfl:

Hi everyone
So as the title suggests - I'm new here. Have lurked a little in the past, but with a seeming inability to curb my grocery spending I thought it might be time to get off the fence and give the challenge a go.
It's just me to feed but I live in London so I suspect it won't be all that easy to get my costs down. From receipts I spent £109 last month (not including eating out, which I've been doing a lot of)!!! Clearly a ridiculous amount of money for one person (although I did have groups of friends over to dinner twice).
Going to go for a hopefully manageable £70 in June
My new month started on Tuesday, and I've spent £13.76 since then on shopping for the week. Can I ask, just for reference, does everyone else include spending on cleaning/laundry supplies?0
