The hobnobs have gone down a treat, the kids love them! Thats a relief! They havent tried the almond millies cookies yet- fingers crossed!

I'm sure they will cleggie. Well done. Its a lovely feeling having a tin or box full of home baked goodies. I noticed on one of your earlier posts you used chocolate drops. I buy the value chocolate bars & chop them up. 30p per bar for 100g. They can be found in the sweetie/chocolate aisle.

Thanks ABOH, i read that somewhere, so i bought the Mr T value choc and bashed it about with a rolling pin to crumble it up a bit. I still oved it

Hi all! Just wanted to say I have had my fifth NSD in a row! Tomorrow will be another NSD but saturday I shall have to stock up. No spends to report until then. Tonights dinner was bits and bobs from the fridge. Sauteed a couple of lo potatoes and made an omelette served with a salad.

Been enjoying the tips for lo rice and other cooking adventures! Hope all are doing well and welcome to Mrs Cookie!

Welcome bonglecat welcome mrs cookie and any other newbies. You'll have seen from the intro we set our own GC according to our circumstances and they're very varied. First month i struggled to keep under £750 :eek:
Not a nsd for me afterall. After last week's wintry weather we bought no salad on saturday so tonight after work OH nipped into Lidl 'for a few bits and pieces' £25.88 later... But the cajun chicken salad was lish and loads of stuff left.

By the way can I just ask those of you have a slowcooker, what size do you have? 3.5L, 5.5L or 6.5L? I want to be able to make batches so I guess larger is better? I wont be buying one very soon but planning too. Thanks for responses!

I'm just making some of catznine's banana muffins but the tin wouldn't fit into my tiny oven so they've turned into a loaf smells superb
Thanks for the ideas folks - I've got meals planned for the next 10 days from the freezer and cupboards, and got the sausages out for tomorrow, so I'm starting to get organised!

Ps the banana loaf tastes as good as it smells

Mine is 6.5L, it really needs replacing as the lid is a touch chipped and i think it prevents it from sealing correctly. It still does the job though. I will be looking for a new one during the summer, i hope to get a bargain while the hot weather is on.
They really are very useful, i use mine several times a week.

Ended up working late so couldn't face SM on the way home. Determined to make something out of what we had available for quick cooking but OH turned his nose up at everything and took me to the pub instead

Just used the last of the white bread flour (and a wee bit of wholemeal!) to make some dough for rolls. The dough is only going to come out of the BM at 11:30 tonight so I guess they'll be proving overnight and going in the oven while I'm in the shower in the morning. Hopefully the kitchen will be cool enough that the dough won't take over the whole worktop :rotfl:

Tomorrow night's dinner already planned - learned my lesson this time! Thanks bossy Florenceem

Hi Everyone,

Will have to catch up on the thread tomorrow- Thursday is a crazy day for me. I work 8:30am-5pm then do college 6pm-9pm

I have spent £1.10- 40p on an ice cream- me and my work collegues brought a multi pack and split it and 70p on gum!!

Not exactly going to 'feed' anyone with those purchases!!!

Going to be busy tomorrow. Will be having biriani and extra stuff at the buffet lunch so not sure what tea will be yet but I have another rhubarb crumble ready for tomorrow's dessert:T. May pull a HM meal from freezer in the morning.
