I have just had the most AMAZING BRAINWAVE!!!
I am going to make JJs herby cheese bread with the rosemary flowers and also with the chive flowers as my herb of choice!!!! Yippee!
They are gonna look AWESOME!!!!!
Why not try it yourself if you have herbs, etc that have gone to flower. Maybe use elderflowers etc, in your cooking too?
I am determined to forage more and use as much of my own produce that I can this year!!
Don't we get excited by the simplest things:D:T
Yes you can, have sent you a pm, try the rosemary flowers in shortbread, I kid you not! Chive flowers are good in scrambled eggs n omelettes and are good in cream cheese with other savoury flower herbs :-)June 2012 GC £52.49 / £300.000 -
I forgot to add lavender flowers have oodles of culinary uses sweet and savoury, lavender lemon sticky chicken is a new favourite in our house and I love lavender ice cream and shortbread and its lovely added to strawberry jam :-)June 2012 GC £52.49 / £300.000

so this is the one I use the most. So my flour is a 'cup', the liquids get measured in the jug etc. They all taste good though and much cheaper than buying them

How about savoury biscs to have with cheese made with the chive flowers like you do with lavender flowers.Possession wrote: »Thanks to Mrs CD as I've just made her banana & chocolate muffins while dinner was cooking and they are delish!

Last spend of the May Challenge for me today at L!dl. £13.12 for lots of salad stuff, fruit, veg, milk, bread, cooked meats and a box of fake magnums. Has a lovely cold meat salad with my friend out on my balcony. We must have sat out for three hours
. Hope the good weather continues as I have a few friends over on Saturday night before we head off for dinner (daily deal vouchers) and dancing.
Anyway the grand total for this month is £89.01 which is way under my £140 budget :T:T. Since I have been out stalking the YS bargains, support and ideas from this fab thread and getting to grips with freezing my LO; I can't believe the change in my spending habits and shopping lists.
I am going to revise my budget for next month down to £100. Seeing this written down is a little scary. No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -
I have £4 (£3.98) to add to signature for two blocks of 400g cheese that Lidl are doing, which is a good offer, as they are normally 350g for more. I have decided to add one to next months budget, as it will definately not be used for a good few weeks yet and im really wanting to get the bacon offer at w/e and still stay within budget(ish).0

DGS "kindly" woke me up at 4am today so is it time for tea yet??? :rotfl:
Today will be a NSD as I dont have the buggy and therefore cannot get out to the shops.
Just given DGS JJ's warmed up LO rice, milk, sugar brekkie......he is currently less than impressed, even crumbling in a Wetabix doesnt seem to have helped. Oh well, it was def worth a try!
I have a batch of the overnight muffin mix in the fridge, so will be baking shortly.....have frozen blueberries and cherries but will also try some frozen raspberry ones to see how they turn out.
Think I might make them in cake cases instead of muffin cases, so I get more of them but smaller.....I feel sure that is Flo-Thinking influencing me! :A
I have LO pork stir fry, LO cottage pie base (equally okay as pasta dish) and LO rice, so todays food will be based around that.
I also have 2 slices of Sainsbods boiled ham LO and some LO Jerseys Royals to use up.
In the past I always bought packet sarnie meat which normally = expensive, but lately I have joined the old ladies queueing for a bit of sliced boiled ham (on the basis that they probably knew a bargain when they saw one).
Result 4 small slices of tasty ham (enough for 2 meals) for
88p :T
Would be lovely in a sarnie but I am trying to do without bread (except JJ's cheesey herby) because it does make my arthritis even worse AND I like lots of butter on it and I would like to weigh a bit less0
