I am definately going to be over this month but not beating myself up as I had dropped my budget by £50. I think the reason that my totals have been low over the past few months is because I have been using stuff up that I had in the cupboards and freezer.

I made fishcakes tonight using up loads of mash that I had left over from yesterday when we had a roast. There was still a lot of mash left so I made some cheese and onion cakes.

Spent £5.70 on taxi and £1.90 on bus.

Spent £6.89 in Tesco Express and £5.35 in Co-op on YS stuff.......managed to just squeeze it into the freezer but had to phone D*nald R*ssell to put Mondays meat delivery off for a few weeks.

NO WAY was that going to fit in freezer! ;)

The next couple of weeks I need to concentrate on eating things OUT of the freezer and not cooking and putting things IN to it :rotfl:

Hi there, I havn't been on for a while but now I need a good recipe for using up some carrots, arghhh made the mistake of buying double as they seemed a good offer at the time, help what can I do with them thought of carrot and coriander soup but Iv only got dried coriander in house and dont want to spend anymore till next week and have also got some peppers that I need to use, can I just chop and freeze them. Thanks. PS Love the look of the Herby bread and the iced fingers are they on the recipe post??

On a Thursday (when I'm pretty much knackered) I would dice-chop them and sling them in a large polythene bag in the freezer and then add a handful to curryies, chillis, bol and stews until they are gone!:T

You can roast carrots in chunks with other veggies - tossed in balsamic vinegar and oil.

Iced buns are made using bread dough with a bit of sugar added - if you have a BM - make the dough in there. Just shape into fingers and leave to rise. When cold - water icing - icing sugar/water plus colour or lemon juice/orange juice.

I wanted the brownie tin that comes with the two packs of lurpak at asda, without spending the money as i dont use that brand. (I'm a skinflint you see). My mum has just come round and dropped the tin off for me. She buys lurpak but doesnt bake. Win win for me. It also makes sure that i am not lured into a supermarket at the weekend. NSD for me today.

Gosh, have been away for a few days and come back here for a catch up and 16 pages you lot have gossiped through!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyway, haven't had time to catch up on it all but just wanted to let you know (sorry if it has already been mentioned) but they have 5kg of basmati rice in Lidl for £4.99 - couldn't see a finish date though, just said 'whilst stocks last'. HTH

Thanks MM - went to L!dl after work and bought three bags of the rice, plus P@rozone bleach for 59p, H#llmanns mayo, and their filter coffee which we really like. All that came out of the 2nd purse, so I'll update totals in my sig.

We had pasta with sauce from Appr*ved F**d for dinner, which I added a tin of chick peas to, and it will do me for lunch tomorrow as well. We've had hm fruit salad with yogurt for pud. Yum!

I'm away from tomorrow for the weekend, so will have a lot of reading to catch up on Monday!

Have a good weekend all! :)
