    Good morning, one and all!

Hot buttered scones for breakfast, French onion soup again for dinner and kidney bean curry for tea. Kidney beans are 17p at Tesco which is cheaper than the Indian shop:T. Never made it before but have high hopes.
I also have a bag of sad parsnips to use up so might make a curried parsnip soup using some of that yoghurt. Could always have it warmed up tomorrow.
Will post later if kidney bean soup is successful with a pricing per portion (I get SUCH a kick from doing that!!!

    Have a great day, y'all!:)

Flo, those herby breads looked a picture of SHEER PERFECTION!:T
Are you making kidney bean curry or soup - bit confused? :( We must be related! :rotfl: I too get a kick out of pricing recipes! :o

£11 on fruit, veg and bread flour in mrA
Millicano coffee refills finally back on offer at 6 for £10.80 on Amazon down to the last packet so good timing.

jumblejacks - iced buns (bread mix plus egg) are nice and cheap, I make mine with milk rather than water to up the calcium. D&Ds apple braid is good too.

Iced buns are a great idea. I made them years ago for the children. I used to make a huge batch - froze some. I iced with water icing - pink or white then added some cake sprinkles - they disappeared really quickly! So expensive in the shops but cheap to make.

Why not make sultana scones - I love cherry scones! If they don't like sultanas - make plain plain scones - split - spread with jam - more filling and healthier than crisps and a chocolate bar PLUS - cheaper!

You took the words right out of my mouth!!!:rotfl:Scones are so easy to make and you can make a huge batch and freeze them.

How about some home made coleslaw? Carrot and orange salad? Carrot and lentil soup, carrot cake.

Are you looking for sweet or savoury recipes? I'm sorry can't help with the other questions.

Yes you can just chop and freeze carrots, I have done this many times when short of time, but i do prefer to blanch them for a couple of minutes seems to give a better texture when defrosted and cooked.
