    Good morning, one and all!

Hot buttered scones for breakfast, French onion soup again for dinner and kidney bean curry for tea. Kidney beans are 17p at Tesco which is cheaper than the Indian shop:T. Never made it before but have high hopes.
I also have a bag of sad parsnips to use up so might make a curried parsnip soup using some of that yoghurt. Could always have it warmed up tomorrow.
Will post later if kidney bean soup is successful with a pricing per portion (I get SUCH a kick from doing that!!!

    Have a great day, y'all!:)

Flo, those herby breads looked a picture of SHEER PERFECTION!:T

I haven't been near a supermarket since Sunday morning :j:j

BUT we woke up to a power cut this morning  I'm at work, so I'm fine, but DH is at home cold with no coffee :p

Literally no idea what to do for dinner tonight now. DH has some dried beans out soaking overnight, but the power isn't due to be put back on til about 9pm tonight......

I'm thinking of getting the bbq out the shed and doing something on that. Don't laugh, I know it's torrential rain outside :rotfl:
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

Right, i have approx 32 weeks left of my grocery budget, which gives me about £43 left each week to spend, i fully expect to go over. I'm going to aldi Saturday night and will spend approx £20 or less. Well thats the plan! We shall see, i have a tub of raspberries in the fridge that need using, i may search out a recipe for a quick raspberry jam.

I'm going to try for £140 for May - for 2 adults & a baby, including toiletries & cleaning stuff.

Eek, after last night's big shop I'm up to £122 already, with 10 days to go! :o Maybe I shouldn't have bought the new mop :o
On the plus side the freezer is full & I need to whittle the contents down to what will fit in the ice box so I can defrost the freezer. So hopefully I can manage to buy nothing except bread, milk, and maybe some f&v for the rest of the month.

Posting here as hopefully that will help me not go into the supermarket to pick up bargains we really don't need at the moment! This month I am down onto statutory maternity pay  so there certainly isn't a penny to spare. Need to do some re-budgeting too & get hubby on board (that's the really tricky bit ;) )

Thanks MrsCD. Yeah they prefer sweet stuff. They (especially my youngest) will happily eat a jam sandwich ,fruit, yogurt, crisps and choccie bar whist waiting for dinner to be cooked, and then eat all of that too! Honestly, he is as skinny as a rake, so god knows where he puts it all :rotfl:
Thanks for the words of wisdom though, its reassuring to know that others have been there and done that :)

Hi Florenceem- they prefer sweet stuff really, but that looks lovely!!
Why not make sultana scones - I love cherry scones! If they don't like sultanas - make plain plain scones - split - spread with jam - more filling and healthier than crisps and a chocolate bar PLUS - cheaper!
