You call Barclaycard do you? On what, the phone thats legging it down the road? Ok u use a payphone? Oh hang on you have no cash to use one, this is all assuming you werent seriosuly injured during the mugging.
With regards your phone security you really, really think of it a tad to highly, any phone can be hacked incredably easily by someone who knows what they are doing, the phone then usually has a jailbroken version of an OS installed and there is no way your provider can either wipe it remotley or the police catch them. Its insane that finicial companies whos security is failing daily introduce new technology that can be expoloited. madness.
yeh that is my 1 biggest problem i guess - now that my phone has been stolen that had all my money (and at some stage ID and info) on it - how do i actually contact anyone to tell them. if it has replaced my laptop, computer, tv, phone, ID, cash, cards etc - im a bit stuck if it's gone!
as for the security issues - i dont think many people, if any people, know how to break the encryption built into Android 4 ICS as long as you haven't rooted your phone or enabled debugging/other dev modes.0 -
Fools and their soon be someone else's money.0

This is so wrong it hurts. For any of the current phones with NFC to be hacked, they must first be wiped before being able to install a 'jailbroken' OS. This is part of security in Android. Once the phone is wiped by the OS, none of your financial details remain. You call Barclaycard do you? On what, the phone thats legging it down the road? Ok u use a payphone? Also, to those of you who think it will be so easy to hack into the financial details, you're also wrong. They're kept on a chip called the secure element, which is controlled solely by Google or the manufactuer or your network. Nobody can gain access to the secure element without a set of keys that are closely guarded. There are no exploits against this. Furthermore, if someone tries to access the secure element using incorrect keys a set number of times, the chip will physically destroy itself.0 -

Your wrong, where I work we have numerous dealings with fraud commiting regarding mobile banking, to be honest we don't it effects them all. I see it day in and day out, the sad thing is the fraudsters are often one step ahead. Its the same as fraudsters being able to left money on duplicated cards without actually knowing the cards PIN, banks will deny this is possible but it is.0 -
I've already explained why you're wrong, why don't you try explaining why I'm wrong instead of spouting barely-believable circumstancial evidence?Your wrong, where I work we have numerous dealings with fraud commiting regarding mobile banking, to be honest we don't it effects them all. Do you have any prior experience with NFC on phones? I highly doubt it. Payment via NFC on your phone is much more secure than payment via cash or debit/credit card. What are you going to do when you lose your wallet? Any !!!!!! thief will be able to take out your cash and spend with your cards. To ever gain access to funds on your NFC phone, they'll have to be a very lucky and highly-skilled hacker. Even then, they'll only have access to whatever's available on your prepaid card and not your actual bank account.
Paranoid luddites tried to slow technological progress in the past; they failed. It'll be the same again.0 -
Went into bank to ask for my debit card not to have the contactless on to my surprise guess what came in post today a PAYTAG. I don't want it.0

So don't use it. Cut it up into little tiny pieces.freezspirit wrote: »what came in post today a PAYTAG. I don't want it.0 -
That's weird I thought they hadn't started sending them out yet! Do u mean a paytag or just another contactless credit card?0
-
I got mine yesterday.
I don't see the point - I always have my card on me anyway. (And given that I've yet to find anywhere using contactless, I can't see that changing soon.)That's weird I thought they hadn't started sending them out yet! Do u mean a paytag or just another contactless credit card?0 -

Its mostly been fast food outlets to date, such as mcdonalds and subway - used my amex a few times. But other stores starting to trial it now such as tesco, so won't be long till it gets critical mass level and its rolled out everywhere.0
