  • I cancelled my Sky account about a year ago, I have since then moved to a building with Sky installed through one dish for the entire building. Would it be possible for me to get my set top box, install it at my new address and call them for this deal? If so, should I quote my old address or my new one?

    Yeah. Just called up and say you had the month trial and they will send you a card. boxes are £30 on ebay i think.

    Just tried twice and as I am already customer, unable to take advantage.

    But went on their website and downgraded my package as I found out paying for channels that we dont watch.

    These sorts of deals are never fair to old customers - We have been with Sky 10 years and are never able to take advantage.

    I'll get off my soap box now.....Sorry for the moaning...It just gets my goat ...

    Ok just got off the phone and got the half price deal - asked if I was on freesat - I replied Id been getting free channels since I cancelled my old contract - didnt go into any information at all.

    got 4 mixs and movies for £18 for 12 months and free evening & weekend calls as well

    Phoned up, placing 1470 in front of the number, gave another phone number, & used my name (the current subscription is in my wife's name). They asked for my viewing card number & I said I'd prefer a new card, no problem, card will be with you in 3-5 days.
    I may have to connect the box back up to my phone line though, no big deal.
    Next year we'll be millionaires!

    This is a total outrage. Loyal customers like myself being shafted. Unbelievable, I have been with then since about 1991/92 and have always paid full price and then they shaft us like this.

    loyalty means nothing to any large business these days ,think about it new customers always get the better deal,insurance as an example i have to change every year because the one that was cheapest last year when i was a new customer now wants more! i too have been paying sky full price for many years but if they dont want to play fair neither will i,and if i have to tell fibs to get my way then so be it..."i really enjoyed my free month of all channels :-)"lololol

    Im afraid you have to be prepared to cancel your sky subs and do without it for a while - Sky have lost thousands of customers since december and this is how they are trying to get them back

    My boss like you has been with sky for years on top package - on friday I rang to try and get a better deal - I had to drop 2 mixes and 1 movies package to get the price down to £39 - I did manage to get a £10 credit - but because they wernt prepared to cancel sky and wait awhile they dont get these kind of offers.

    Its all about consumer power - cancel and wait for the offers - they will ring you before cancellation and offer probably 10% or cancel - Ive had 4 calls and refused each one since I cancelled. Now this offer was sent to out and I rang about it

    i phoned up to cancel our top package yesterday (was seeing if i could get a better deal) 15 minutes the sky rep was trying to convince me to stay but never once offered me a deal. just kept saying sky is the cheapest blah blah. so i let him waffle on and in the end he said will you stay i said no. 30 days notice. i hear the sky+ feature is going to be free for all from this month so may just use my +box on the freeview for a bit
