I have something similar too that I need to pay my CC which is about 3k but that will go from direct debit so not an issue.

I just don't know why my solicitor has still not got the offer letter which i got back on Monday, does it take that long.

I saw a post here from someone saying it took almost 16 days to get the offer letter to the solicitor and my vendor is getting more and more impatient which is making me feel really nervous about the whole thing.

I am not intentionally delaying anything but if the letter is not coming to the solicitor I cant do much about it.

Can the vendor back out sighting delay in the process as reason?

I will check with him today again and if not then I will get in touch with nationwide and see what they say.

Only concern is my vendor for me at this point of time as there are no delays from my end to be honest but cant do anything with things that are just not in my hand.
  • Anyone know how quickly somebody will be in touch from Nationwide once application is submitted. We submitted online Tuesday night and expected to hear it was received at least by now.

I have been told that once its allocated to someone they will be in touch to request pay slips etc. As I was curious about that, but they did not say how long it takes.

Really want to know time scales of the inbetween parts etc.

I received 3 texts all at once from Nationwide today.

1st and 2nd both saying the valuation was satisfactory

3rd saying that they are delighted to inform me that they have issued a formal mortgage offer and they look forward to completing based on the offer.

I let my solicitor know, he said it normally takes 3-5 days for it to get to him. And he said that he thinks the completion will be in 6 weeks but I think he is being cautious to cover his back! I hope so anyway!

This is how it went down for me:

    Application made: 15/04/13

    Text about application receipt: 15/04/13

    Valuation Date Text: 17/04/13

    Valuation satisfactory text: 19/04/13

I then phoned on the 22nd to find out if they had everything they needed and they informed me they required a p60 in a diff format.
    Faxed over on same day.
Phoned them on 23rd they said they needed p60 - which they already had, then said they would req last payslip which they had, so a service request was made (i think this means it goes from a customer service advisor to someone that checks the docs). I was told around 1-3 days.
Called on 25th - they said they req my passport because dob was keyed in incorrectly - emailed by broker on same day.

    Offer text: 26/04/13...hurray!!

Now waiting for paper offer through the post....so in total: 12 days. Although I reckon I would've received offer on the 22nd if they had all the info.
  • That's amazingly quick, Saronn, I wish they were being that fast for me.

Congrats to those who got their offers this week.

My full application was submitted on Monday, and they texted me today to say my valuation has been booked - for 10 May. Two weeks away! It has been farmed out to Countrywide, apparently. I can't believe it's going to take so long - worried my seller will go elsewhere.

I wish you all the best! Maybe you can ring NW & ask them why the valuation is for 10th May?
