this is a better link as it has some dresses on the other pages too. TKmax also have a really good 28 day returns policy.

I'm with London Mum on this one. I left my dress shopping too late (4 months before the wedding) because of desperately trying to lose weight and failing! So I was also a size 20 although 5'7" so not gigantic by any means, but it limited my choice of dresses to a choice of 1! Some choice eh! It wasn't an expensive dress at £350 actually nearly cost less than my bridesmaids! It's my one regret of my wedding day that I didn't feel as gorgeous as a bride should feel, I didn't get the teary eyed moment from my parents and certainly get the wow from my guests and I felt like an ordinary person walking around the place amongst friends and family in a plain, boring, unflattering long dress. My wedding day itself was gorgeous and I loved every minute but still have such regrets over the dress. It was the one day in my life that I wanted to feel my best and that never happened. I would say Judy go to more shops and et her try on more dresses but if she still ones back to that one she has to make the decision whether for her the dress is the most important thing. As a lot of others have said on here for quite a few people it's not the mos important. Nobody is right or wrong and for everyone to have THEIR perfect wedding we all Mae decisions as to what is most important and most special to us as individuals.0

To us, the most important thing was to celebrate with my friends & family, and we put most of our budget into the food, drink & music rather than frills & frocks.
For the dress to take so much of the budget is a big thing, but if that's the case then I guess you just have to cut down on other thing.
Eg, you might have to saccrifice a photographer, then you wont have the pro shot in your expensive dress...
Well said. I felt exactly the same. I didn't even go to any dress shops for mine. Debenhams and Monsoon has plenty of choice.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

For me it is your (daughter's) wedding, therefore she needs to make her own priorities about what she wants to spend her money on. For some people that will be the wedding dress. For others it'll be photographers/chair covers/cake toppers/free bar etc. As with everything wedding related there will always be people who want to 'splash the cash' and those that don't. Neither side is right. But I don't like the undercurrents of inverse snobbery around buying 'expensive' wedding dresses. For me being MSE is about getting what you want for the best possible price, regardless of your budget. It isn't about buying the cheapest option regardless. We all have different priorities in life.
(My wedding dress is around 20% of our total budget).0 -
I can relate to how your daughter feels
I've found the perfect dress for £75 which is great, but I'm a shoe fiend and the only shoes that will do are £1095 from Alexander McQueen. Luckily I know I will get lots of wears out of the shoes and i'm only just over my total budget. When you're chewing on life's gristle, don't grumble, give a whistle.

You can get them altered by a good dressmaker.0
