Mothers of boys - when do you

DS1 became a prude at a very young age, DS2 still does the dash from shower to bedroom with nothing on at home but has a dressing gown for uni, and DS3 would live in his pants if he could.
I don't flaunt myself in front of them, but if I need to make a dash to the airer before I'm dressed, I will!
DH wears as little as possible at home, but I make sure he has something to cover up with if anyone's coming in!mumto2loves wrote: »just as a little side note, my best friend (when at senior school) had parents who were naturists, and I did find THAT a little bit awkward. but even that became 'normal' after a while.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
privacy whilst in the bath...that would be a dream lol
my 13 yr old boy still comes in for a poo when im in the bath, i swear he does it on purpose lol
he does now wear boxers around the house but that is a recent event
we are very relaxed in this house, thats not to say we flaunt it but if anyone is naked going to/from the bathroom an someone else sees them then noone bats an eye...saying that my 7 year old DD still refuses to wear clothes in the house lolIf we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

They will find their own modesty, ours two boys did, eventually, but if you feel uncomfortable with them walking in on you, just say that sometimes you like a bit of privacy but don't make a big deal of it.0

Funnily enough though, it didn't work the other way round and he was happy to walk in on me in the bath/dressing etc for a few more years. We had no lock on the bathroom door as it didn't shut properly and it got to the point where I started feeling uncomfortable and asked him not to come in any more. I don't know why really, it started seeming weird once he was moving out of childhood, so at around 13 or so? Not so much the getting dressed bit, but laying there exposed in the bath trying to have a conversation.
My own experience has been exactly the same as heretolearn's.
Though last week my son wanted to use the hair straighteners (which are in our room) while I was getting dressed, he wasn't keen but given the choice between that and bad hair he was happy for me to just turn my back to him!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

omg the thought of being naked round people who aren't my partner , i don't mind it if theyre wearing underwear but not starkers and i certainly wouldnt want to see my parents naked
when i was younger we had respect for eachother and knocked first and if someone was in the buff you just didnt enter

I expected more responses to be like yours.
Do you think you would feel the same with your own child?
I guess because I started out breastfeeding and having skin to skin contact it just became normal, natural and relaxing.
I don't want to impose on my boys but i want them to feel relaxed and confident about their bodies.
I think a lot of parents now are more relaxed about being naked. My parents generation would be horrified!
Having said that in the changing rooms in the gym I'm covered up. I don't like strangers parading their bits to everyone. :rotfl:0 -

I would take their lead. My DS is 16 and the odd time he walks into the bathroom when Im in the bath (covered in bubbles) but I dont mind. I wouldnt walk in on him though. He started to cover up when he was ready, and it was gradual, I cant remember how old he was. DD who is 12, she has long hair and will sometimes ask me to wash her hair for her, but shes shy in front of her dad and brother which is normal. DD 8 runs about starkers still.
