  • Thanks Robin and Beanie. Robin, I shall order a gizmo like that as they are handy to have, however these particular tablets are actually capsules, so cutting would just release the powder (which I suppose I could then weigh??).

We haven't had any more seizures:j.

Letter arrived from DWP to tell us they had paid us £30, but no explanation as to why!

Debt calculation for last month is done and I now stand at £3275. This is a decrease of £175, so I'm already short of hitting my self imposed £200 per month minimum . I did, however, spend £50 on presents without taking anything from the Christmas fund, so I suppose I can redress the balance from there. I think what I'll do though is just pay off anything that's left in the present fund in January to the credit card, and just keep chipping away at everything else between now and then.

Oh Lucky :( I am sorry about DH. At least he knew he had had one. Glad he didn't repeat it though.

I had 2 NSD's in Sept - and spent over budget. Have joined a challenge again to stop me spending. Self imposed budgets and all...

As for not managing to pay off £200 of your debt a month every single month... May I please direct your attention to the LBM date in your signature. In a little over 3 years you have paid off more than £20,000.00 :j:j:j You absolutely boggle my mind. Stop beating yourself up!

Aha, for capsules the technique is a bit different. I use a gram / letter scale. Used to wrap divided doses of powder in a twist of rice paper until a trainee-pharmacist mate of DS3's saw me, and brought a box of empty capsules on her next visit. The capsules will pull apart easily, no need to cut 'em open.
I've been splitting Omepraz0le for years; it's handed out alongside a lot of other meds but the half-adult-human-dose required for my dogs costs £55** as opposed to about a fiver for a box of adult-dose capsules from the chemist!
**£30 to see the vet, £25 for pills.

Word of caution though: Some meds are not equally mixed; the manufacturer only guarantees the complete dose - so always check with Doctor whether it's safe to divide up the capsules yourself. ;)

    Good!

..Agree with Lilt, you're doing an amazing job on the debt-busting! :T
Don't sweat the small spends, it's just not worth the stress. ;)
  • So nice to have visitors! I needed some friendly words of encouragement after a breakdown earlier on :(.

It's all getting too much. Short version of a long and boring story is that DS1 is working his ticket BIG STYLE, DH has obviously just had a seizure which is a worry and DS2 has been off colour due to the pox. I'm constantly tired, I've had Beavers things coming out of my ears this week and I have a horrible pain in my side/tummy that just won't shift. I haven't had a minute to myself with DS2 being off school all week, MiL has lots of things she needs help with, the internet is still off and being investigated by our provider which has caused lots of phone calls etc to be dealt with, and then there is the general housework/food shopping/ money stuff to do as well as work. I was in the middle of a DS1 tantrum when Homescan rang to complain that I hadn't scanned any shopping for the last 2 weeks. I just lost it.

I cried and cried and couldn't stop, to the point where I couldn't breathe. I feel broken. And stupid.

We picked up the 25mg tablets before all that, so that's one more thing sorted. Thanks for the info Robin Xx

Oh honey - sometimes I wish I could reach through the screen and give you a hug.

You're being pulled in a million directions and everyone seems to want a piece at the moment. Is it any wonder?

It is GOOD to cry like that. Sometimes you need to just let go and let it all out. I sincerely hope that DH was around to witness it so that he will be kind at least as long as he remembers. In the meantime, YOU ARE NOT BROKEN OR STUPID. There are so many people on here, and OFF here who think that you are wonderful. Smart, together, exceptionally patient, kind, hard working, generous... Those are the things I can see through a few words typed on your laptop.

And you might dismiss us, as much as we say it because we are 'only online' but I mean it. You are a remarkable person and I would have fallen at a hurdle a few years ago and not gotten back up in your position. You have the mental and physical strength of ten of me!

So pick yourself up, dust your shoulders off, and grab a bath bomb. The second those boys are asleep, you need to get in the bath and relax. I know DH had a seizure, but he has been fine, had his meds and can now start a higher dose. So breathe and have a bath. And if you're worried about using up the lovely bath bombs, I will send you a dozen to 'see' you take some time for yourself...

Lots of love. Take care of yourself. You've been doing too much and first your body and now your mind is telling you. Slow down. Think about cutting out Scouts or Beavers... just for a few weeks. xx

Oh, many many (((hugs))) dear Lucky!

Agree with Lilt; time for self-preservation.

    Possible practical steps:
*Back to the Doctor with you; persistence pays off.
*Be open with MrL's mate - ask him to take MrL out more often. He's a paramedic, he won't mind.
*Is there any possibility of getting a carer for MrL, similar to the arrangement Mr Sun Addict has?
*Man-to-Mum chat with DS1 re how you're feeling. Be honest, he's old enough - give him extra responsibility within the family (both practical chores and emotionally). Be prepared to use bribery in exchange for co-operation (initially at least).
*Choose one or more of your commitments which can be cut out for now, to allow you more rest - Beavers perhaps? Important to take the time when you would have been out doing [whatever] for yourself though, away from your home responsibilities.

    (((More hugs)))
