So this morning will be better! It's going to be a nice day here so i'm planning to take everyone out to enjoy it. Haven't decided where yet, but they WILL like it and they WILL behave :rotfl:.

Go Girl - you tell 'em! :T

(Thanks for the chuckle, Lucky! :D).

You reminded me of an ex-neighbour, whose pre-teen daughter's temper was as fiery as her hair.. One day, after yet another yelling match, the mother ended their argument with:
"If you don't start behaving better, young lady, I will have no alternative but to dye your hair the mousey-est brown I can find!"

Not sure whether Mum's words or the helpless laughter emanating from our side of the fence was more effective, but it marked an epiphany (the girl went on to become quite a well known model, noted for her long auburn hair).

I hope you have a great day out Lucky, chuckles at the WILL!

Robin that is so funny :rotfl:

I'm in a similar boat with OH today, his mood is appalling, I feel like throttling him but instead I think I will take myself out, buy a Sunday paper and go and read it in silence somewhere x

  • Hahah Lucky, loving the WILL, reminds me very much of my mums attitude to my sister and I! Our arguments were long, loud and very violent. She actually nearly killed me once. :D mum was always very firm and that did stop us from misbehaving whilst out and about for the most part. An argument in the car on the way to a day trip has a few times become a U-Turn home to sit in our bedroom all day!

Do better on the eating front Lucky... it's half the battle losing weight as I am sure anyone at SW knows; regulating blood sugars, stopping you from snacking inappropriately and helping the weight to go! You worry me...

Hope everyone has a lovely chilled out Sunday! xx

  • Loving all the kiddy stories ;) I wish I had written down all the funny things they have all said, i've forgotten most of them already :o . I took mine to a party yesterday where they refused to join in! They only knew the birthday boy (their cousin) so I did feel sorry for them. They ended up spending the entire 2 hours in the park next to the village hall :wall: So I'd driven 70+miles for them to do what we could have done at home!!

Have a good (and peaceful, I hope) day! xx

  • Aw I loving having lots of visitors! Afternoon everyone!

Buffy, I hope you managed your SOMETHING!!

Robin, as the mother of a redhead, I LOVE that story :rotfl:. Mind you, the little one is blonde and has just as bad a temper!

Granny, I hope you got your peace and quiet and Grandad is out of his grump now.

Lilt, I've turned the car round and taken the boys home instead of swimming before. They now know I mean it when I give out warnings like that!
You really don't need to worry about me not eating! I LOVE my food and don't normally go without! It was just the circumstances of yesterday and I will make sure it doesn't happen again.

DF(w) I'm gutted for you re the party, but I'm glad to have read on your diary that you all went out afterwards so it wasn't a complete waste of a trip.

So today we have been to a NT place that we haven't been to before. It was the birthplace of the artist Thomas Bewick and was a fairly small farmstead but we really enjoyed it. They had donkeys, alpacas and goats, and the boys spotted a wild rabbit who was actually quite tame. Lovely day and I didn't even have to force them to enjoy themselves :rotfl:.

 Suppose you could threaten to even things up a bit; dye the little 'un to match his brother! :rotfl:

Glad to hear you had a more harmonious outing today. :)

As a redhead, I have to defend my sisterhood by saying our legendary rocket-like temper deflates just as quickly as it flares. Once it deflates, we can't understand what all the fuss is about??
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
