Hopefully she's won the lotto! Still worried though.

  • Oh my goodness! I can't believe you've all been so worried! Sorry, sorry, sorry. All is ok, promise, I just haven't had a minute to myself, everytime I try to come on something crops up or the internet was pants.

So, I've been missing since Tuesday. Tuesday I ran round all day like a blue-bottomed fly, got very upset to find I'd gained 1.5lbs despite being good all week :(, and then had unexpected company until 11pm.

Wednesday we got up early and got packed for Legoland. I was thrilled to have us all up, ready and organised and out the door by 8.45am. We got as far as sitting in the car, turned the key ..... and the car wouldn't start :mad:. Short version of a long story is that the battery was flat because one of the boys (neither is admitting it!) had switched an interior light on Tuesday night and hadn't switched it off before they got out . This not only delayed our start, but also meant we had to run the car for an hour or more of our journey to charge the battery, and therefore fill up with diesel at a service station en route rather than our local Mr T's as planned. I had built up 8p off per litre in reward points which would have meant around £1.20 per litre, but ended up paying £1.42 per litre at the services . Anyway, we got to Windsor at about 5pm and made use of the hotel pool and sauna etc before going out for a meal which MiL paid for :T.

Thursday we went to Legoland. I'd found out online that priority parking was £7, but if you arrived early you could get standard parking just behind premier for the standard £4 charge, so we did just that. We had already spoken to the boys about what rides they wanted to go on no matter what, so we made a bee line for those. They each got their lego car drivers licence, we went on atlantis and a few others and then watched the pirate show which I have to say was fantastic. We then queued for the spider ride and all of a sudden Ds2 took ill :(. He was very snotty eyed and runny nosed and it literally came from nowhere. He got very upset and cried and whinged the whole time we queued (but he insisted on staying in the queue as he wanted to go on it!!) and as soon as the ride was over we went to guest services and bought some calpol. Ten minutes later he was right as rain again!!! MiL thinks perhaps it was an allergy to something?? It changed the dynamic of the day though and unfortunately it went downhill from then. We went to the water area and I'd taken the boys' swimming things but DS1 refused to get changed and go in the splash area as he said he was too fat and everyone would laugh at him . I'm beyond devastated about that as he isn't fat, though I have previously made comments to him about how I don't want him to be overweight like me and I wish I'd moved more and eaten better when I was younger before it became a problem. This has obviously been computed differently by him to how it was meant and I feel awful. The ridiculous thing though is that he then begged to go back to the hotel to go swimming in the pool. How is that different?!
The boys had been given money by various friends and family members and they clubbed together and bought a lego set on the way out. They have a lego shop VIP card from our store at home and it collects points per pound spent to give vouchers for free lego. Imagine my surprised when it was refused in Legoland as they are 'Merlin not Lego'!!! Still can't get over that one.

Today we visited DH's cousins and their children on the way home, including 2 week old baby Isobel. OMG she is yummy and I totally hogged her for snuggles the whole 2 hours we were there. The journey back home from there was awful though, heavy rain, heavy traffic and lots of stop starts. Glad to be home, eventually.

So that's us. DH has been really good for how busy we've been and how stressful it's been at times. We've spent a fortune but no more than I expected to.

Thanks again for your concern and sorry again.

By the way, Beanie is an angel. I know we all know that anyway, but she is Xx

  • Eeeeeeeeeeeeh! So glad to see you back and not a squeak about the thing we were all worrying about, DH and a seizure! So happy that A: you are back and B: all is ok!

Don't worry about DS1, he will be fine. I went through rdiculous phases of self-consciousness as a kid and I was stick thin. As you saw, it wears off easily. It was probably more embarrassment at something else and that was the first excuse that came to mind!

:) Legoland sounds fab! Jellytot does the super ill one second, calpol and fine the next too. I love calpol!

    Hugs!! x

And we know about Beanie <3
