    Hey Lucky

Glad to see no post ref DH so hoping he has passed his waves of fear moment. Onwards!

Sad to hear about your sisters partner. Cross my fingers it is nothing that can't be fixed and sending those positive vibes as always.

  • Sister's partner may need heart transplant as her heart is only working at 15% :(. Thank you for the well wishes though Xx

Mrs H, it's a darn good thing to be on your soap box about. So sad what humans can do to each other :(.

Been to see Epilepsy Nurse today. She agrees that it seems to be a pattern building towards seizure, so we are to increase DH's meds again now rather than wait for it to happen and then increase them. We are both happy with that.

Also bought DS2's school shoes at the cl@rks outlet shop for £21.49. They didn't have anything suitable for DS1 in his size so will have to go to a normal cl@rks. Just told that story to MiL though and she has offered to pay for them :T. Might actually nip to the Metro Centre later tonight for them, although I also have to do the ice bucket challenge that one of my oh so kind friends nominated me for .

Hooray to MiL. She is a godsend isn't she. Kind of makes up for a bit of the holiday spending. Maybe if you just 'offset' all these little things she does in your head, you will feel much better about the spends for that? :)

 on the ice bucket challenge! the boys will love it!!!

As for upping the meds, that is great and should hopefully stop this build up? Do they go back down again or are they ever increasing? And what does that mean in terms of side effects etc?

Enjoy your evening! And your hot shower after your nice bath ;) LOL.

  • Ice bucket challenge all done, what a scream! Video now reaching the heady heights of fame on facebook :rotfl:. I still feel cold hours later though!

Lilt, the meds are ever increasing. Usually I call the nurse after DH has had a seizure and she gives the ok to go up a bit more, but talking to her today we all agreed it looked likely that a seizure will happen in the not too distant future, so instead of experiencing it and then going up, we are going to go up now and try to avoid it altogether. The problem is that DH is now taking a very high dose (though still not top whack of the newest one) and that could cause side effects such as drowsiness etc. Will have to keep an extra eye on him!!!

Missy Hinge's meds also increase post seizure or if she has had a growth spurt. The dosage change continually to keep up with her weight to meds ratio.

I'm glad they are being proactive with Mr Plmbl and not just reactive to seizures.

I hope your finding some time to take care of yourself Plmbl x x

My friends little boy is constantly monitored for weight/growth spurts. Being 1 when he was diagnosed, he has a lot of med changes!

Thank you for the kind explanation ref DH's meds Lucky. I know it must be boring trotting that sort of thing out. I was just curious. I thought the side effects might be drowsiness etc. Good and also a bad thing. I just hope it stops a seizure. Does DH know about the med increase? He might surpass his no-seizure record...

    Hugs!

  • Mrs H, I really don't know how you cope when it's your baby going through all that :( :A.

Lilt, DH does know about the med increase and he's super pleased about it. I get the feeling that his body gets used to a certain dose and then the seizures 'break through', so increasing now could buy us several weeks more (touch wood, fingers crossed!).

Well thank goodness MiL said she would pay for DS1's shoes - £48!!!! I nearly passed out in shock!!

But good news, DLA has been granted again for another 2 years :j.

    £48?!?!?!

There is another thing I better start adding away a budget for for the future.. Jelly's are £26-30 at the minute and that is bad enough! Oh actually her winter boots last year were £40... but they still fit... not enough wear out of them though...

Hope the meds work great for DH and he surpasses his best time between seizures!
