DH and I tried to visit Beamish when we were "co-habiting" and the rain was like stair-rods. We went home drenched after only half an hour. Sadly, we didn't get to go back.

Hope the weather is better for you, Lucky!

Did I tell you that I lived in Fatfield, Washington, for a year in 2002, when I first moved in with DH? We had to relocate to Milton Keynes with his company in 2003.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Fingers crossed weather stays fine and you have a lovely day at Beamish, not somewhere i have been but would love to go, DD went a couple of years ago on a school trip and loved it, think the weather was pretty awful when she went.

    Take care.x.

I did get a photo but still need to figure out putting it on here. Did try to use Instagram as suggested by Lilt but found DH already had an account on there using our email so needed a bit more work than I thought. Anyway, Buster was so cute. He would climb up the enclosure and take popcorn (sold by the animal park as animal feed!) from your hand. Gorgeous gentle creature.

Tried to use my voucher online for my next Mr M delivery next week but no joy - it was worth a try! Well done with your little haul though! Enjoy Beamish, hope the weather is good. We've had torrential rain and storms tonight. Hopefully not the start of the hurricane :(
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I bought 4 knowing that we would easily use that much with the price of fruit etc, but I must admit when my neighbour brought 2 more I started thinking more about using it for veg and chopping and freezing it. I used another (the 3rd!) voucher today on onions, raspberries and new potatoes. What I bought came to £4.83 but the whole £5 came off my shopping total. As I only bought one other item for £1.69, I paid £1.56 :j.

I missed the meat vouchers :(.

Thanks PWPS, we had a great day. Nearly didn't go because DH woke up on another planet :( He didn't have a clue what was going on and was talking to me like he didn't really know me, saying things like "Excuse me, I don't feel very well". I had honestly decided we weren't going but he seemed much better by about 10am and was practically begging to go. We'd got free tickets through my Mum's work so I decided there was nothing spoiling if it ended up being cut short as we hadn't paid to go in. As it went we had a good 4 hours there and apart from one wave of fear DH was fine the whole time. We watched them make bread (and then bought a warm loaf to tear into as we wandered round :o), looked in all the old fashioned shops, school and houses, saw the shire horses, the boys went on the shuggy boats and the carousel, we shared some old fashioned fish & chips (today has NOT been good for the diet!!), rode the trams and generally had a good time. It stayed dry right until 2pm when the heavens opened, but we sheltered under trees and it was still warm. It didn't last long.

    And I found a pound :D.

DH has continued to be a bit off tonight so fingers crossed we have an uneventful night Xx

  • We made it through the night without seizure :j. DH was very jerky, DS2 woke up as has become the norm :( but he settled quite quickly, and I smashed a glass of lemonade in the dark at about 2am :(, but apart from that it was an uneventful night!!!!
