Oh Lucky. Sometimes people don't see that actually you do a huge amount and support everyone with so much on your shoulders. Sending big hugs.
Sometimes it takes getting upset to make people realise that you have feelings too!
Take care xx

Hi Lucky, :hello:
(Very quick visit before lappy goes "Ping!").
Wonder whether DH would be interested in recording 'significant events' in his own diary (not on here, lol)? Maybe mobile 'phone video clips which could be stored on a pc..?
You'll definitely have to remind him about the 75 / 25% split in fundraising proceeds - don't feel bad about it.
MIL's hotel deal sounds ace - basically £25 per night for each of you including brekky - hard to beat that! Bet she offers to pay the fuel bill and various incidentals too, plus of course she'll help you keep an eye on all your boys.. Wonderful!0 -
I agree that you should spend the lottery win on yourself but I know you won't..........
Hopefully MIL will help out on your trip and make things a little easier on you.
Maybe make an A4 poster to stick on fridge to show DH's savings towards his tattoo and have a note about it being 25% of ebay sales as a little reminder. It could be your reminder not his so he doesn't feel belittled. I sometimes stick things on the fridge to remind 'me' but it is also there for all to see.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Plmbl :grouphug: it is so easy to "forget" about yourself when running around looking after everyone else and it also easy to feel undervalued and unappreciated, I understand your want to shelter the boys about finances but I also feel there is never a "too young" and it is very important to teach them about the value of money and the reasons behind why they can't have everything and go everywhere.
I agree with this whole heartedly

Thank you all so much for being so kind, understanding and sensible! I've given myself a talking to but more importantly I've spoken to everyone else too.
DH is back on board with the 75/25 thing. I've shown him a list of all the things we need to pay for and he has helped by getting things ready for me to list on eb@y. He's also decided to sell the last remaining motorbike bit that he has been clinging on to :j. Hopefully we are back in this together as a team.
DS1's kick off yesterday was because he wanted an Xbox game which was 'only' £15 in Mr T's. He has £20 and he didn't see why I wouldn't let him get it and he wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. This morning we talked sensibly and I suggested that if he really wanted it he could check the price elsewhere and see if he could get it cheaper. For example, even if it was the same price in Mr A's I'd get 10% off with my staff discount. Furthermore, he still has a £5.30 voucher left over from when he traded in some other games, and he's finished another game since then so perhaps if he traded that game in too he might have enough. He agreed to check that out and when we got to the exchange place he found they were selling the game he wanted for £6!! By trading in his game and using the voucher he already had, he actually ended up with 2 games for the grand total of 70p cash!! Believe it or not he then found 65p on the floor, so he is only down 5p not £15 and he has 2 games to show for it. I think I won the argument and he is a convert to the way I do things!

Rather thinking of yourself as a big bad wolf, think of yourself as a friendly sheep dog, looking after your flock. m
Much better image.
ref the lottery win. if you wont spend it on yourself, at least save it fir a nice treat when you are away.

Aw thanks Beanie, you are a star too and I hope you have an equally happy weekend Xx
Chev, a friendly sheep dog is so much better! Thank you! I'm hoping the lotto win will go towards something while we are away, however it might well be needed for general living expenses as I've done some calculations and things are a little tight for the next 12 days .
It has practically been monsoon like rain here today. We attempted softplay after lunch at home, but we couldn't even get the car parked it was so busy! Obviously everyone else had the same idea! We drove to see MiL instead and the boys watched a movie at her house, as she has all the posh channels :rotfl:. She has invited her gentleman friend to come to Leg0land with us as her room is the same price whether it has single or double occupancy. This is not a problem at all, however it does mean that they will travel down together instead of MiL coming in our car. We therefore have to cover all the diesel costs ourselves whereas I'm sure she would have contributed if she'd travelled with us.
Had a few weird tummy pains today. Hope I'm not brewing a bug.

Hi Lucky - we just had the torrential rain here too. Cat came in soaked. What are these lotto wins of which you speak? Given up on lotto after many many failed attempts. Wish you would spend it on yourself or at least put it to one side for future reference. Hope tummy pains amount to nothing.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
