  • Thank you everyone, we are very much looking forward to it.

Lifeforms that's really kind of you to point out the offer, it seems like a great deal. My fussy cat normally only eats kitek@t, so I shall see if she's changed her mind about Whisk@s!

Been to the coast to meet Mum/Grandma/Auntie this afternoon. It was lovely and warm and dry so we spent time at the park. Got home to find it pouring down, such weird weather! The boys scored for £12 each between all the donations towards our trip tomorrow :T.

Been to work tonight and saw a friend I used to work with who has just had her 3rd baby 10 weeks ago. Said baby is gorgeous! Then tonight someone has posted a scan picture on Facebook. I'm feeling very broody again! Just when I thought I was ok with the whole 'not having any more' idea.

Early start in the morning, so I'm off to bed shortly. I don't want anyone thinking I'm one of the pandas tomorrow with my saggy black baggy eyes!

Popping in but see I have missed you!! Hope you all have/had a fabby time at the zoo! And hope your weather has been better than ours. Thunderstorms, smothering heat, rainshowers, not a breath of wind then tornado season. Mental!

I could give any panda a run for their money by the way. If there is one item of make up I am frightened to run out of it's concealer :rotfl:

  • Thank you so much for all the good wishes for our trip, we had a fab time and I shall fill you all in in a mo. Firstly though, I just wanted to clarify that I did declare my Carers Allowance (£3107) on my tax credits renewal under 'taxable social security benefits', the £1002 was my 'income/earnings' from work. Thank you though Mrs H for looking out for me Xx

So Edinburgh was fab. The zoo was brilliant as usual and the sun shone all day :T. Both pandas were in the viewing areas for our slot which is always a bonus and both boys chose cheap souvenirs in the shop. Despite taking a packed lunch we still spent £20 on extra drinks and ice creams etc. It didn't help that DH had asked me just to pack healthy stuff but then felt the need for sugar on more than one occasion. Anything to keep him on an even keel though.

The hotel was adequate and the room was clean, however the entrance to the hotel let it down. It was down a skanky back alley with all the litter bins etc and to be honest it didn't entirely feel safe. I wouldn't rush back there again but it served it's purpose as a cheap base. The Hard Rock Cafe was awesome though and expensive as predicted, but the nachos can't be beaten!

This morning we wandered Edinburgh city centre and made the most of the extra facilities on offer thanks to the Fringe Festival. We had planned to go to the castle, but DS2 had been disappointed to discover there were no spiders at the zoo, so we headed to Butterfly & Insect World instead. It was advertised at £24.95 for a family but I asked if they did Carer's Discounts and she said yes, so we paid £17.50 :T. I know that is still a lot but we had a great time, we held millipedes, snakes and a tarantula :D. The humid rain forest there was fabulous and the butterflies were beautiful. They took rather a shine to DS2's curly hair!!

Painting my Grandma's lounge tomorrow!! She was complaining it looked grubby so what's a girl to do but help out her favourite Grandma? Xx
