Great news about the carpets and the weight loss! Hope Mr Lucky's lump is nothing to worry about - I'm sure it will be. A few years ago Mr SA found a lump in his stomach and ended up going to the doctors - it was a muscle and it was meant to be there!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Thanks SA, I'm really starting to think that's what it is for Mr Lucky too! Hope the Dr laughs us out of there on Monday!!

Disappeared in a sea of paint yesterday! First coat is on and doing the next bit this morning. Busy day today though in that Ds1 and I are helping with a bucket collection for Beavers/Cubs/Scouts at Mr A's late morning and then I'm also working at Mr A's later too.

Finances are a bit tight after buying all the paint and then the Nat Trust membership debited this week too. Will have to watch every penny!

I hope DS's lump turns out to be absolutely nothing to worry about.

DB had his letter about the outcome of one of his appointments in Newcastle. The doctor has written that it is nothing 'sinister'. This has really tickled DB. That they use such a word. So that is what I hope for your DH.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

  • Good luck with the drs appointment, fingers are crossed its nothing serious :)

P.s re:a1di -my fault really we've got two either side of town and I normally go to the one nearest me not least because the other one was where I had money stolen from my bag! But I just happened to be nearest to the other one last week, it's smack bang opposite a place where lots of teenagers live and sit around outside drinking etc so I normally avoid that one if I'm honest otherwise every trip is like the one I described before lol

  • Pooh, I'm glad DB's issue is not 'sinister'. Thank you for your good wishes re DH.

DF(w) thank you to you too. Sounds like that a1di should definitely be avoided in the future!!

What a day! Finally got the painting finished and then one of DH's mates (he's actually best mate's son) called round to help him take up the laminate floor and carpets. That's when they decided to nail down some of the floorboards upstairs as they squeak which isn't ideal when you go to the loo in the middle of the night.
They only hammered through a heating pipe .

Water poured through the light fitting in the downstairs hall and sprayed upwards like a fountain in the hall upstairs. It then started running down the walls and it was an absolute nightmare. Thank goodness one of the Dad's from Beavers is a plumber so he came and rescued us. He only charged £10, which was for the part he used :T Thankfully everything seems to be drying out ok and we can still have the carpet laid tomorrow. I've been really stressed all day though and DH went a bit vague which didn't help .

Today is a year since the due date of my 2nd lost baby (the one before the twins). The Rhododendrons I planted to commemorate the day have started to open their buds today :D. Comforted by the timing!

Would have been a NSD were it not for the plumber!!!!!

Hi Lucky :) Mixed day yesterday. Hope you're ok! Trust DH is doing ok too.

Well done on the weight loss and 'new' wardrobe! ;) And your wee girlie night out (ages ago!) sounds fun! More of that please!! :)

    Keep smiling :)

  • Lovely to have you back HAW

Thank you for the hugs Granny, very much appreciated.

Cheers Beanie, hope things are a little easier for you now too.

Just been sitting bubbling at DIY SOS: The big build, with the woman on from Sunderland with a brain disease. Things could have been so much worse for Mr Lucky and I feel blessed not to be in the same position as the poor woman's lovely husband.

The water damage dried up enough to allow some of the carpets to go down today. Hall, stairs and DS2's room are all done (and look fab!) and our room is being done tomorrow. This is down to the logistics of not being able to clear 2 bedrooms into a 3rd small one rather than the water damage and always was going to be the case. It's made a huge difference to the house already and I'm thrilled.

Forgot to mention but a letter arrived from DWP on Saturday. I say letter, but it was actually photocopies of my payslips and a form that they had obviously sent to my work to fill in to check up on how much I've earned over the last few months. It made me a bit angry if I'm honest that they didn't send us a letter asking for the info rather than requesting it straight from my work, as that seems like they were trying to catch us out. Anyway, today just short of £80 was credited to our bank account. A second letter arrived this afternoon saying it was being paid in and 'to ring if we want to know why'. What a pointless letter! Of course we want to know why so why not tell us in the letter?!?! I can only assume that instead of catching us out they have discovered that they actually owe us more:D. The only other scenario is that it is something to do with the Support Group appeal, but I doubt it as we still haven't heard anything about that. Didn't get chance to call them this afternoon but will do so tomorrow to find out.

Oh, nearly forgot, DH has a hernia. Dr isn't too worried about it though, but we need to keep an eye on it.
