  • Evening all!

    Gonna keep it brief tonight as I haven't had the best day with Mr Lucky and I'm feeling a bit miserable. Only gonna focus on today's positives;

I lost a pound at fat class. Was hoping for (and deserved) more, but at least I lost.
Won the raffle at fat class, £5 (for a free week).
MiL has paid for us to get new carpets :j. This will make a HUGE difference to our house and they could be fitted as quickly as next week.

Hope everyone has had a good day Xx

Sorry you're feeling pants, but glad to hear about the weight loss, the raffle and MIL's gift of carpets. You'll really enjoy the way it spruces up the house. She's a treasure.

Can Mr Lucky find a running buddy who will look after him so that he can build up a regular routine? I know locally a blind runner asked for a running buddy.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. We've had a more positive day today so I'm not as miserable as I was!!

MiL is very good to us, though I'd like to think it is a two way street as we do lots for her too. FiL always dealt with finances and she is a bit lost, so I do lots of stuff for her in that way also. I recently 'found' a lot of money she didn't know she had () in a stocks and shares ISA and the price she paid for our new carpet is 10% of that amount (keep telling myself this so I don't feel guilty). It was a generous gift though, we are having 2 bedrooms and the stairs carpeted :j.

DH is actually going out running again with his pal in an hour or so. Pal is now officially running buddy :D.

This morning we saw both boys in a musical concert at school which was very cute, even if a little spoilt by someone behind us complaining that it had gone on so long they would miss 'aaaal of Jeremy Kyle':eek::rotfl:.

This afternoon as been spent further prepping DS2's room for decorating. His is one of the bedrooms to get a new carpet! I've also been trying to get a cheaper quote for my home insurance which is due at the beginning of next month. Amazingly it seems the renewal quote is the cheapest I can get so far.

Car tax reminder also landed today :(. £265 for the year

:rotfl::rotfl: that made me laugh! It reminded me of my trip to a1di today as the checkout girl and two of her buddies were chatting about JK! They also thought they were super nice and everyone else was a " !!!!'ead " .....went a bit like this [imagine Essex accent here] " yeah I swear down if one more f-ing grandma knocks into me like, I'm gonna f-ing ram 'er wiv me pram! I'm too f-ing nice fer me own gud!" :rotfl::rotfl: she then proceeded to stand in the queue giving everyone dirty looks, me included :rotfl:

Boo to your car tax! Mine is same price but I put £25 in an envelope every month now towards it!

  • OMG DF(w), your trip to Ald1 sounds horrific!! If that's them being nice I'd hate to see what nasty was like .

Re the car tax, I need to start doing that. I put £25 away each month for Christmas but I'm going to have to start a car pot too. Been trying so hard to pay the debts off I haven't got as far as saving for anything else yet :o.

Had a quite chilled morning shopping for paint etc for DS2's room. Then went to the farm shop and Ald1 (no scummy mummies DF(w)!) Got home, picked DS2 up from nursery and made lunch. Then we got a call saying they would be delivering and fitting the carpets on Monday.

    PANIC!!!

Spent the next few hours trying to get the rest of the border off the walls. MiL came round to help and ended up her and DH working in the room and me looking after the boys etc and making the tea. I think DH has overdone things though as he has been mixing up his words tonight. His sentences should make sense but the words are in the wrong place, eg "let it do him" instead of "let him do it". He has also discovered a lump under his ribcage which we can feel when he lies down so we have an appointment to get that checked out on Monday.

    It never rains ......
