Gosh Lucky reading your last post was so spookily what I feel about Mr SA. I think he is a better person since his illness, he was a right grumpy so and so a lot of the time. He is much more tolerant now. Like you I try not to get angry when I ask him to do something as simple as getting the washing in and he doesn't do it. And also like you I feel trapped sometimes when there are so many things I can't do now. I have meltdowns from time to time when I'm sick of not being able to do anything due to lack of money and Mr SA's illness. I agree that thinking about the enormity of is this how life is going to be from now one is really scary - I think it's best not to dwell too much on it and just live life a day at a time. Try to concentrate on the small pleasures like the weight loss, the treadmill running, the NSDs and the lovely days out with your boys. And you can moan to me anytime - we both have our ex-roofers with brain injuries to put up with!

  • Chocforever, thank you so much for delurking with that info. I had no idea a place like that even existed and I will certainly keep it in mind during talks with DH's Consultants etc. It's good to know there may be other paths to take! Please stay out of lurkdom now!

SA, I sorry you feel the same way I do, but I'm also glad to know there is someone who understands. Sometimes I think I shouldn't say that I feel that way as I'm supposed to just 'get on with it', but on the otherhand I might go doolallytap if I don't talk about it. Hopefully we can pull each other through.

Ok, so after all the recent doom and gloom, I have some positives to report!!
    1) I've made a hair appointment and it's for tomorrow :j.
    2) I plucked up the courage to ring National Trust about our renewal (£98 for an annual family membership!) and asked if they offered any discounts. They do!! They've changed our membership to a one adult family membership (£60.50 for the year) and then I get a Carer's card to get in free with them!! £37.50 saved for one brave phone call :j.
    3) I was clearing some paperwork and found some info about my staff reward scheme. I remembered when I rang my boss to tell her that I'd lost the twins, and she was devastated as she thought she had some good news for me that I'd scored 100% in a mystery shop. She told me I'd got reward points but with everything going on at the time I forgot all about it. Long story short, I logged on and had enough points to claim a £20 gift voucher :T.

Off out to Parent's Evening and then fat club! Hope I still feel as positive when I get back from them  Xx

  • Parents Evening went great, although she did say "I find DS1 to be a little 'laid back'", to which I couldn't help but reply "well I find him to be a LOT laid back!!". He's doing fab though.

Fat club was a different matter, 2lbs on :(. Bl00dy biscuits .

"Laid back" is a positive assessment in my book

  • Today I got some me time :j. I got my hair cut and coloured and then I did a bit of clothes shopping. I bought myself a nice bright top (though I may still take it back as I spent enough on the haircut ). I really enjoyed the quiet time and reading magazines in the salon, and then just browsing in the shops without having to have eyes in the back of my head for the boys (or DH!!).

Meeting a friend for coffee in the morning while the car gets MOT'd a few streets away. Multi-tasking!!! :D

  • Good for you. There's nothing like a wee pick me up haircut. Keep the top. You deserve it and you are doing amazingly well with debt repayments so it won't make a huge difference other than to how you feel :D
