    Hello Lucky, :hello:

Gosh lots has happened in Lucky-land recently; well done on weight loss and debt reduction, and making pleasing improvements in your bedroom thanks to MIL (and your handiness at helping her on the pc). :T

Granny, I don't know who Mr Bonnington is :o but I'm sure he's wonderful :D.

He's a fellow MSEr and he is a very kind considerate hard-working man who carries the worries of debt on his shoulders with what seems to be like very little family support. He's a dear

  • Hi PLMBL

Well done you on such fab debt reduction :T. I have been away for a while a missed your diary updates. Have you killed this much debt from Snowballing?.

I am back on track again now, but got until December 2015 on my calculation .

I have set up a small craft business, and going to plough every penny of my earnings against the debt so hopefully those extra payments will bring my debt free date abit nearer than two years .

When is your planned debt free date? I bet its next year sometime looking at how much you killed of this year. :j.

    Take care xxx

Oo-er matron :o:rotfl:. Thanks Robin, jokes aside the room looks so much better. Less of a charity shop dumping ground and more of a boudoir :T.

Ah Granny he sounds wonderful and I shall seek out his diary. I'm afraid I tend to just use my subscribed list to catch up on diaries and I haven't explored any others for a while. That shall be my task for later today. After we put up the Christmas tree :D. Xx

Hi Steph, nice to have you back!

I did work on snowballing, only one debt was charging interest (at an extortionate 29.9%!!) so all spare cash went to that one. I did a bank account round down every Friday and sent the odd pounds and pence to that credit card -eg if my balance was £123.45 I would send off the £3.45. I didn't miss the odd amounts (if anything it made budgeting easier), but I've paid off over £500 extra this year by doing it. I'm part of the 'Make £10 per day' challenge on the Debt Free Wannabe board, and most extra money from that went to the debt, eg eb@y sales. I made sure that anything we could afford went to it as the desire to get rid of it was huge. I have to say though, MiL did help clear some.
All our debt is now 0%, so anything we pay off actually reduces the balance by the same amount which is very motivating. One of the 0% ends in Feb so I'm still using the same snowballing method to reduce that one as much as possible just incase I can't shift it to another 0% deal. My previous debt free date on the snowball calculator was Christmas 2015, but I haven't checked what it is now that it's in the £5k's and all 0%. I'd love to think it's this time next year but I'm not sure if that's too ambitious! Will check it out Xx

  • Snowball calculator now says 20 months, meaning July 2015 is my current debt free date. However, that assumes I will stick with B@rcl@yc@rd when the 0% runs out and I'm hoping that wont be the case if I can get a transfer deal.

Been on tenterhooks all day incase DH has a seizure. He even got as far as the 'chewing' and I made him lie down but nothing happened. I think he must just be on enough medication to keep it at bay at the moment. Fingers crossed we get through the night without episode.

Hope you have an uneventful night and DH settles down. If your DF date ends up being july 2015, that means it has taken four years to clear a debt of nearly £24k, I think that pretty good going.xx
