  • Snowball calculator now says 20 months, meaning July 2015 is my current debt free date. However, that assumes I will stick with B@rcl@yc@rd when the 0% runs out and I'm hoping that wont be the case if I can get a transfer deal.

Been on tenterhooks all day incase DH has a seizure. He even got as far as the 'chewing' and I made him lie down but nothing happened. I think he must just be on enough medication to keep it at bay at the moment. Fingers crossed we get through the night without episode.

why not ring dh seizure nurse for any support... ? have you got xmas decoration light s up?
my hubby is on argumentative street what about who knows it can be absolutely anything from tv control to what fruit in the basket!
I am considering putting him on freecycle! The medical profession have still lots to learn re human brain - last mri scan showed no additional growth but its the side effects day to day that are a challenge to those who love and care for them take care xxx

Hope you have an uneventful night and DH settles down. If your DF date ends up being july 2015, that means it has taken four years to clear a debt of nearly £24k, I think that pretty good going.xx

Thank you for the perspective amber! You are right, 4 years during the worst financial times of our lives in terms of income IS pretty good going eh?! Still makes me cry thinking what else we could've done with that money though!

You have my every sympathy tuna, it's so hard being the carer sometime isn't it? Especially when they are angry or argumentative. I hope your day got better!

We do have the Christmas tree lights up but all tests on DH have proven he doesn't have photosensitive epilepsy, and the mouth chewing happened before I put the tree lights up anyway. DH was very jerky in his sleep again last night and I laid awake until 2am expecting a seizure which didn't actually happen. I think his medicine must be just enough at the minute and I might ring the Epilepsy nurse to see what she thinks. Xx

  • Went to docs this morning and she has taken swabs to rule out infection, but she thinks it's more likely just my hormones playing up. She also didn't think the blood disorder needs any further investigation as I've not shown any signs of it in my 35 years. I'm to go back end of January and see if the bleeding has settled down by then . I bloomin hope so!!

DH seems better today but keeps complaining he's tired despite him sleeping 9 hours against my 4 and a half!! Not that I'm bitter or anything :p. Just got Beavers to get through and then I'm having an early night I think.

Yesterday was indeed a NSD so that's 2 chalked up for December! More than I thought I'd manage if I'm honest!

It seems to be a big stress for you.

  • Thanks everyone!

Beanie, I'm more than ready for my christmas break from Beavers. Some of the boys I have are a little challenging and they seem to lack listening skills. I'm about to lose 3 of them up to Cubs and I think the dynamic of the group will change for the better when that happens. If things don't change come January then I may have to rethink my commitment though. I put quite a lot of effort into planning fun sessions and it's a bit soul destroying when they misbehave to the point of making me think "why do I bother?". That said, I do enjoy it overall and I got a lovely thank you gift and card tonight from one of the boys leaving us. His Mum actually wrote "you have so much going on in your life yet you still give so much back. You are remarkable (and deserve a medal!)". Makes it all worth it :D.
