Glad to hear OH didn't have another episode.

Trick or treating sounds fun. Saw photos of DGC, complete with spooky makeup on DGDs and DDIL, very clever job by DDIL. I bought them M1lky bar ghosts for when they get home. (Although they are a bit phallic like when unwrapped, caused OH to giggle out loud, I'd bought him one aswell)

It was very quiet around here, not one knock on my door. Maybe because, as I was on my own, I had no lights on and the blinds drawn whilst watching Hello Dolly :p

Hope you got a good night's sleep

  • Lol at phallic ghosts Granny :rotfl:.

Brizzle I think my energy just ran out. Having a really down day and have an overwhelming urge to take myself off somewhere alone for 24 hours. Nothing flash, just a hotel room where I can read a book or watch tv and then have at least 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep! I can't remember the last full night I had. Last night DS2 woke up at 1am, DH woke up at 2.30am complaining of a sore throat and staggering around (with the lights on) wondering what to do about it. DS2 then woke again at 5.30am and DS1 has been a royal pain in the butt this morning and has already lost his iPod and Xbox for the day. I'm getting fed up of putting everyone else first and still getting nowhere. I think DH knows something is up though, he has done a fab job of tidying up and hoovering while I've been getting myself and the boys ready.

  • Feeling a bit better tonight. Eventually decided on cinema this afternoon and it was worth the expense. Not only was the film really good (Thor), but it meant 2 blissful hours without any arguing, fighting or being mentally responsible for anyone! Also, who could fail to smile at a half naked Chris Hemsworth??

I realised today though that I never have any down time. Apart from work on a Saturday night and my fat class which is like a job too as I weigh everyone in, the only time I'm ever actually alone is the journey to and from work. Must try to work something out about that!

You know it's funny but I was thinking that today - in my old job I was literally NEVER alone, my day went, Mum, dogs, guinea pigs, work, kids, kids, kids, home, work, Mum, dinner, Mum, bed. Never on my own. had 10 minutes in the car tops.

Now in my new job, I have the journey to and from work, which is 35 minutes, I spend much of it talking to myself!! and other drivers and the radio and it is wonderful :) Plus work is much nicer!

Although really some proper alone time would be amazing... I do get a bit at night I guess but by then it is so late I am shattered.

What sort of thing would you like PLMBL?

Hi lucky glad you enjoyed film and got your "me time" at last. Maybe you could factor in an hour at least once a week for your own sanity really. Funny that before Mr SA got ill I wanted the same thing - just a bit of time to myself - now I get too much time alone! You just can't win!
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

That's the stupid thing Buffy, I don't know. Right now just a lazy day infront of the tv where I chose what to watch would be good. Or with a book. Anything without the constant refereeing or having to find things that are misplaced etc. I don't need flash, just quiet!

To clarify, we all went to the cinema, it was just that they were all quiet while we were there :D.

SA, I do know what you mean about too much time alone. When DH was in hospital for all those weeks and the kids were in bed I was desperately lonely and craved company. Think the lesson is be careful what you wish for and value what you've got.

    Wise words :)

We went trick or treating too :) the good thing about being on our estate is that it is full of children, it was so fun seeing literally dozens of kids running around all dressed up :T I love halloween around here (one of the only things I do like about it, and christmas ;))

As you know from reading my entry yesterday i've had a similar half term to you! Kids constantly fighting or grassing each other up! In the end every time they came up to me "Mummy he /she hit me" I'd just say, go sort it out yourself, hit him/her back harder and they won't come back for more. Oh lord, i've turned into my mother. I swore i'd never do that, and i'd always go and sort it out and not encourage fighting. Pfft. They actually broke me yesterday and I caved and said at least 3 things my mother used to say to me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Our kids don't go back until Wednesday :eek::eek: 2 teacher training days in a row so am hoping the child minded kids are being looked after on Monday and Tuesday otherwise I will have them ALL day long with nothing to do :( shoot me now!
