  • Hi Robin and HAW!

DH and DS1 have been out on bikes a few times, usually along to the park etc where DS2 and I can go too with DS2 on his tricycle or scooter. Unfortunately DS1 needs a new inner tube (truth be known he needs a new bike as he's outgrown it really), so that needs fixed before they can go out again. DH has also used the bike to go to his Mums 5mins away when it's easier for him to pop there alone. However, even that is scary for me to 'let him go'. I knew the bike wouldn't get as much use as he thought it would!

HAW, I've actually got quite a nice tan from the garden. I realised how brown I am when I put a pink top on today and I didn't blend in to it :p.

This afternoon DH is at a group confidence building thing. They meet up and go for a walk and there should be about 8 of them. It's the first time he's felt up to trying it. MIL has taken him for me (but won't be going for the walk obviously or that negates the whole idea!), so that I can collect DS1 from school. I could have taken DH and she would have done school pick up but I thought the MSE way was to let MIL pay for petrol and parking :o. Also, I would have had to entertain DS2 while we waited for DH which could have been expensive too.

Right, off to do debt calculations!!

  • Sorry the sun has escaped you DFW :( Not to rub it in but we've had gorgeous sunny days, weird the difference from one end of the country to (sort of) the other! However, prediction is that we've seen the last of it for the rest of the week :(. I don't have any tattoos, quite like DH's though which are black and grey, just don't want to pay for any more!

Made the most of the sunshine tonight and took the Beavers out for a walk around our village, which is steeped in history and I had lots of facts to bore them with :rotfl:. We stopped at the churchyard and I was asked by the boys if Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston or Jesus were buried there :rotfl:. We then ended up at the park for them to play :j

Debt calculation shows a reduction of just £170, but on the positive side I'll be under £9.5k if I do the same next month.

  • It's more cloudy than of late mummy, but still lovely and warm. I've pegged one load out and I have another in the machine :D.

Just had another major battle over DS2 refusing to try big boy pants again :( He was so upset he was almost sick :(:(:( Eventually he put the pants on but whilst I was hanging out the washing he stripped off and put a nappy on himself (backwards!). I honestly don't know what to do next. He says he doesn't know why he doesn't want to come out of nappies, he just doesn't. I feel the clock is ticking as he starts nursery in September and at 3 and a half he should be out of nappies by now, but I don't want him traumatised by it either. At what point is it just a battle of wills though?

DH has just gone out with his best friend to help him move some flag stones, so DS2 and I are going to nip to the shops to get something little for DH to open on his birthday, a deodorant or something :rotfl:. He still just wants money for his birthday from everyone else so will see what happens with that before I make a contribution to the fund.

    Hi Robin and HAW!

    :hello:
HAW, I've actually got quite a nice tan from the garden. I realised how brown I am when I put a pink top on today and I didn't blend in to it :p.

    :rotfl::rotfl:

I've no tattoos. Neither does OH. I have to admit though, I do have some sort of (weird?!) fascination with them, but so long as they're tasteful and the person isn't clarried from head to toe. But I've no desire to ever get one done

:rotfl: to the churchyard questions too!! Guess they were trying to liven things up!! ha ha :)

Not sure on the DS2 big boy pants bit as I've never been through that, but I do hear a lot of the 'when he's ready he's ready' sorta comments from family/friends about their wee ones!
We still have our own 'issues' with DD2 :( No idea what/if there's anything else can be done.

PS. You can't go far wrong with a Lynx set for the guys!! ;)

  • Spoke too soon about the weather :( It's raining now. Grabbed the washing in before in got heavy and it's mainly dry thankfully, 2nd load will have to go on the airer though.

DS2 and I got DH a cake (chosen by DS2, apparently Daddy wanted a Skylanders one :rotfl:) and a body spray from Mr A's. They are just token gifts to make it feel like a birthday and are more for the boys benefit really. However, I've discovered 3 year olds can't keep secrets! Despite me discussing it with him at length about how the cake was a surprise for Daddy, the first thing DS2 said when DH and his friend came home was "Daddy I've got you a Skylanders cake"

I don't think I've mentioned on here that I spoke to DH's Epilepsy nurse the other day. She has increased his medicine dosage again which DH is pleased about as it gives him hope that the seizures might not happen again. However, the nurse wants DH referred for further assessment by the Epileptologist, as he has now gone outside of the 'norm' for occasional seizures after a head injury.

DS2 'won'. He is wearing a nappy.

You just made me laugh and remembered mine when they were little telling Daddy what I had bought him for Christmas when they knew it was a surprise.

Just a thought but have you tried hiding the nappies away somewhere like people do with dummies and exchange nappies for a special gift, maybe a Skylander? If there are no nappies in the house he can't wear one. That is if you think he is ready..

We have had gorgeous weather, a pity that there is no one in the cottage to enjoy it. I have listed it on ebay as a Father's day gift idea.

  • That's a great idea re the cottage Pooh, I hope you get a bidding war! If I wasn't at work on Saturday night this week I may have had a bid myself (using DH's tattoo money :p).

I certainly will put the nappies out of reach from now on, as today may have gone better if he hadn't changed himself. I was going to use nappies at night still though as he doesn't wake up dry yet. I was also hoping that would follow quite quickly after we stopped using them during the day however.

DH got a letter at his Mums address about interest changes on a savings account we didn't know he had. Called them this afternoon in the hope of finding forgotten millions but the balance is zero :(. Oh well, the excitement was fun while it lasted!

Re the cake Pooh, I wouldn't care but I bought one so it was a surprise for DH as I was going to make one, but then he would have been involved in the whole process. Now I've spent the extra and still no surprise! Still, at least I have a sweet story to embarrass him with in the years to come :rotfl:.
