When I asked for luck I didn't mean the bad variety!!!

Hi all
Satchmo, that book sounds great, will look it up ta. Good idea re DH and a journal. He did that when he was in the head injury unit and for a while after he got home, but hasn't more recently and you are right it might help with the seizure signs. In a way that's what I do with this diary too. It's 2 years tomorrow since the accident .
DFW and HAW, I know how lucky I am for having my family around and that they treat us too. The downside to that is sometimes we can all live in each other's pockets but I'm still pleased they are there. I don't know how I'd cope without them, particularly when DH is ill.
SBO, today we went to Blyth beach. We've never been before but our neighbour recommended it and it was really good. There is a park right next to the beach, an ice cream shop and a chip shop. The beach itself was nice and we found a little cove where we could sit on the sand but still be right next to the water for the kids to paddle. The sun was fantastic and we had a lovely day.
I did calculate the bills well enough to have an excess, infact it was £20.27 due to the phone bill being less than last month. For this reason I was able to spend £1.80 on chips for the boys to share at the beach and £4 on ice cream. On the way home I also weighed in the clothes that DH had been donated by my sister's friend but didn't want to keep, and got a massive £2.92. However, he actually kept more than he didn't so overall that donation was a real mse winner for us.
Beavers tonight but we made the most of the sunshine and played outdoors. You are never too old for dodgeball or 'stuck in the mud'.

 Time flies!! Hope you're doing ok today!
*hug*
Agree with the family bit! Hard sometimes to get a happy balance, but like you say, you wouldn't be without them! It's good you've got the support there.
Yay for the chips and icecream
Aaaaaah haven't played 'stuck in the mud' for YEARS!!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Im more stick in the mud these days. DD2 is off to Glastonbury with her trendy dad and I am providing supporting laundry services and some financial support. She said I was being boring the other day, as I dont do that kind of thing. ARGH!
I do like a bit rounders though. My MIL has taken DS to Sheilds today, should fun but its expensive there!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Morning Lucky!
Sorry I've not popped in. I've not been a very MSE girly all in all so havenot really been checking in to as many diaries as I should have been. I'm back on board now though, especially after seeing Lloyds have charged me the princely sum of £6 for dipping into my overdraft for just over 24 hours accidentally last month. And £0.11 interest on top! The really ironic thing is, as they applied these charges they also paid me £0.45 in interest on the credit balance I had for most of the month. They wonder why I'm moving banks currently!
Chips and ice cream! Sounds like a lovely treat. My sister used to dip her chips in her ice cream... odd little lady :rotfl:
Congratulations to you & DH on your 2 year accident anniversary today. Yes, a bit bizarre to say congratulations considering all you have gone through since that horrible day, but... You've done so amazingly well since then, it deserves recognition!
Hope you have as good a day as possible today

It does deserve recognition. I know you've had ups and downs in the last 2 years but today could have had a completely different significance so make sure you take time to celebrate and be thankful for each other (which I know you are)Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
lilt and starnac thank you for your congratulations! It has not escaped me that I could have been saying I've been widowed for 2 years today so we are thankful for that not being the case.
lilt, when my Mum was pregnant with me she used to scrape salt and vinegar crisps down orange ice lollies and eat them together . Explains a lot about me!! Can't say I fancy chips and ice cream together!
SBO I was always a rounders fan! My favourite at school along with netball (netball mainly coz I towered above most of all the other girls). How did DS like Shields today? It's been just the weather for it!
Thank you for the hug HAW, right back at ya! Sounds like you need one today. Although it's been on my mind a few times today that it's the accident anniversary, it hasn't been all consuming like it was last year.
So good news - I only put half a pound on when I got weighed tonight :j Thrilled with that as I was expecting more.
Bad news - my throat is really sore againDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Ah we can never have too many hugs!:D
Glad you didn't dwell on things yesterdayAnd it is a matter of putting things into perspective sometimes. My dad is still alive and kicking and making us laugh with his silly jokes, but for ages I seemed to keep picturing him lying in the hospital bed just after he'd had his stroke a few years ago. I couldn't get the image out of my head. Until I actually made myself think differently (with the help of my counsellor actually). He was out of hospital. He was fine. And he's out and about every day on his farm. That's reality. That's what I need to focus on.

Lol SBO, I like your thinking :rotfl:. I ALWAYS wear an underwired bra though (they'd bruise my knees without), so I'm going with the extra hairspray idea
Or heavy perfume!!
Glad your Dad is well again HAW! I'm feeling better today also thank you, was worried tonsillitis was on it's way back but seems ok now.
Today DH had his final appointment with the lady that has been doing confidence building with him. I usually go with him to these meetings (mainly to get him there and then remind him of what has been discussed afterwards!), however today he had to go alone. I left him 2 streets away so he could walk part of the journey himself, and then he had to get himself into the right building, 'arrive' himself at reception and say who his appointment was with, and then have a short meeting whereby he was in control of the conversation without any prompting/ reminding from me. This may not sound much but it was a huge step for DH and he panicked about it all morning. You'd think he was going to the guillotine! He text me when he arrived at the building so I could relax that he had made it there, and then all went well in the meeting :T. He's been very tired this afternoon though and has almost nodded off on the sofa a couple of times. I'm hoping it's just worn him out with the stress of it all rather than it being a sign of seizure.
