    Hi Lucky,
Sorry your holiday wasn't as much of an MS break as you had hoped. The scenery is stunning along the Northumberland coast. And I hope poor DS1 is better soon.

Out of interest where did you do the soft play? My bro was looking for a decent one up here, but in the end they did Edinburgh museums as they didn't find anything.

The one we went to was in Duns. I think it was called Hurly Burly. It was good enough, been to better but been to a lot worse!! The staff were really nice though!

Your post has reminded me that I never did hear back from Headway! I had forgotten all about it. Will chase that up Xx

It is stunning Pooh! I thought of you today as I received my magazine for Beaver/Cubs/Scouts leaders and they had an article in about High Force waterfall!

DS1 is much better today thank you. He slept all night with no more sickness and the antibiotics have obviously kicked in :D.

Today we met my Mum and Grandma for coffee which cost nothing as they paid. Went to Mr A's for a few bits but was as frugal as possible and spent £14.98. Hopefully that will keep us going til wednesday. This afternoon we went to the park in the village that they have just spruced up and refurbished :T. It's so much better! We took the 2 girls from next door with us and they all went on scooters :D.

Hoping for sun tomorrow for a free day at National Trust or the beach or something. DS1 off school until Tues and DS2 off playgroup until Wed so need to fill the days in without spending if possible!

  • Today has been a NSD :j. Slight change of plan after MIL discovered a local Private Estate and Gardens had an open day today for charity, and offered to pay us in. This is after the last time we tried to go but it was cancelled due to the weather, but today was gorgeous. The place was stunning and we had a very enjoyable afternoon wandering round both on foot and by tractor :D. The kitchen garden with wild garlic smelled amazing and the quarry garden was breathtaking. It was just the pick me up I needed.

Monthly bills due out tomorrow and if I've calculated correctly we should have £15 left. I've got everything crossed I haven't forgot something and we really do have that excess.

    Hi Lucky

Found your post by accident and thought you were inspirational. Plan to keep posted, but I am very forgetful... so hope you do well. My husband has illness problems which makes it interesting, certainly never dull, it's fascinating reading your diary. I am always looking out for cheap things to do with the kids as there are so many in the area (I live in Whitley Bay).

Clarks Outlet at the Royal Quays do a further 10% discount for anyone who works on the Cobalt Park (they do a "More Card"). It's huge you might know someone.

    Kind Regards,
    Cheryl

  • Thank you for posting Cheryl! I hope your hubby is as well as can be and you are looking after yourself too.

Cheers for the info about Clarks too. I used to work at Cobalt, will have to see if I can look up some old colleagues for their discount card :rotfl:.

We will have to share tips and ideas about things to do in Geordieland. I have recently discovered a page on facebook called Northumberland Cheap or Free stuff to do with the kids. Take a look, people have some good ideas Xx

    Happy Monday! :D

Bummer your holiday didn't go quite as expected. I'm sure you're almost glad to be back home for a break now! :p

Hope DS is feeling better today!

:T to your mum/gran/MIL for treating you - I love how they're looking out for you and looking after you ;)

  • Nice to see you back, shame you were fleeced like a sheep in July.

I will look up the cheap things to do in Northumberland. I like to have a jaunt out with the kids but I hate the feeling that everything costs a fortune, it makes me uncomfortable and unhappy. Not a good feeling when you are meant to be having a relax.

    Hi Lucky,

I've just finished reading a novel about a woman's memory loss and it made me wonder whether it would help DH to keep a journal (diary) of his feelings (physical and emotional). He may see some patterns into how he was before he has a fit. NB the book was called "Before I Wake".

    Hugs, Satchmo xx
