I hope you enjoyed the wedding and that your mum managed okay with the boys. You are very kind to think of your neighbour . I bet she appreciates the thought.

  • Granny and Pooh, the wedding was truly lovely thank you! It was a wonderful place, the sun shone, the Bride of course looked gorgeous, good food, great company and we only spent £19!!!! (Present excluded). DH managed the day ok and although we left before the end, it was still 11pm so I was really pleased. My Mum did end up having the boys to stay over, so I had my first night off in well over 3 years :T. The only downside was the amount of calories I consumed (but the chocolate fountain was soooooo lovely :o).

For Bad Weather, the men's favours were lotto tickets like mine were! The ladies favours however were little wooden hearts, tied with a ribbon In their colour scheme. On one side it had the Bride & Groom's names and wedding date, but on the other side it had the cutest little quote:-

"How do you spell 'love'?" - Piglet
"You don't spell it ....you feel it." - Pooh

Well done on the weight loss! The wedding sounded lovely - love the quote! You've done well to reduce debt considering all that's happened. We women are like Duracell batteries - we just keep going!

Re your DS - they say boys are usually slow to be toilet trained. To be honest it's that long since my DS was young I can't remember - he's 28 now. Every time I see him it shocks me that I have a son so old!!

  • Clever work in Boots ;) I love it when things like that happen!!

Glad the wedding went well and the sun shone!! Sounds like a great day (and in-expensive too!! ;)) :p to the calories. I'm sure you were up dancing enough to work them straight back off again!!

    Love the Piglet/Pooh quote :D

Happy Monday and have a great day!!

  • All sounds rather wonderful!

So pleased you had a fab time. x
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Hi all, thanks for dropping by. Happy Monday all! Sun Addict, I hope things are as ok as they can be for you today Xx

DS1 went back to school today so things have seemed a little calmer. He came out of school miserable though, claiming he hates school dinners and demanding packed lunches again :( I feel really bad about it but I really don't want him to change as we get free school meals, but it's not just about the cost of the meal. Free school meals means I don't have to pay for his trips or milk etc and that's a huge saving for us. I've tried explaining it to him but he just stomped off.

As far as money goes, we have £75 to last us until Friday, but even then we need to make that money stretch to the end of the month/beginning of May. We have a bit of diesel and some food in the cupboard/freezer so hopefully we will be ok. I will need some shopping but will try to keep it to a minimum. On the plus side we made it through half term without dipping in to the car tax/holiday/decorating/emergency fund :T. I will be taking some out of there soon for paint though as the 3 for 2 deal ends on the 21st of this month.

Back to Beavers tonight and then got a meeting afterwards, so I'm off to make an early tea or I won't get anything until after 10pm!

    Happy Happy Monday!

That is so lovely you had a nice day! And how could you NOT have had some of the chocolate fountain - It would have been rude to the bride if you didn't? ;)

How nice are those wee favours...that is a GOOD idea...hmmmmm....

I was thinking about you when i was on HeadAboveWaters diary. I saw a picture of me on Saturday and I was thinking I need to lose weight and i need fake tan!

How was the Soap and Glory fake tan - would you recommend? x
  • Yes I'd recommend the S&G fake tan! Freaked a bit because my hands went totally orange after doing my legs but true to what it said on the bottle it washed right off with soapy water. It didn't streak, I liked the shade and it stayed on no bother. The next morning in the shower though it looked like an explosion in a rust factory :rotfl:. Xx

I can highly recommend Dove or Garnier Summer Body - both gradual tan body lotions that really work and give me a golden glow all year round. No streaks and no rust explosions!!

  • Thanks SA, will look into those when this one runs out!

Watching the news about the Boston marathon bombs :( So scary for all involved and my heart goes out to the injured/deceased and their families. How anyone has the nerve, or thinks they have the right, to do that to someone else is beyond me.
