  • Today has been a NSD! Kind of enforced as over night our available balance reduced from £14 to £4 so there wasn't a lot we could do with that! We ended up just staying in all day but DH's friend landed and spent most of the afternoon here so he kept everyone entertained! Spent the rest of the day streamlining old paperwork, doing endless mountains of washing, tidying up and batch cooking.

Thrilled to report that we have spent the weekend in relative harmony amongst the lucky household. DS1 and DH have both curbed their temper/behaviour and the usual weekend dramas haven't materialised :D. Long may it continue!

A day in a peaceful household sorting things out and not spending anything can be a joy to experience sometimes, can't it? Just caught up with your diary, the other members of your household are so lucky to have you worrying about them and trying to improve their lives. :A

I'm another person struggling through March! I don't know what it is about the month but everyone I know is finding it hard too.

It really is so fantastic you've lost 20lbs, I'm in awe of how you've gone for it whilst finding the time to concentrate on debt busting and your family. Now you've lost some weight I imagine there are things in the back of your wardrobe that you can now slip into - I would say a million times better feeling than buying something new! :D

  • Hi Fudgie!

March has been somewhat of a shock for me! I smugly sailed through Christmas, Jan and Feb while all around me were crying poverty, and whilst we weren't flush, all budgets were working properly and it felt we were doing ok. This month, however, has just been disappearing money after disappearing money and apart from a couple of obvious things (Mother's Day/Stag Do/DH's entry to a competition in August -don't ask ), I really don't know where the money has gone.

I do have a small contingency fund squirrelled away, but I wanted to use that over the school summer holidays, so I'm not going to use it this month. Having to stay in to save money is fine for one Sunday in March, but it would be hell to have to do it for 6 weeks over the summer, so I want to try to forget it exists for now.

I've been really enjoying the feeling of being in control of my diet. It really is all about having your head in the right place before you start and I've found it quite easy. I'm currently wearing a top I got for my birthday but I hadn't felt comfortable enough to wear it as I felt it clung to my tummy too much. Not anymore :D Xx

My money is also - exactly that - disappearing this month! As we don't live near enough for it to be a crime spree, it might be time to send in Dr Who. :rotfl:

March seems an awful long month, I also have too much month left at the end of my money ! :(
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..
  • Another Mad as a March Hare here.

I had minus 7 pounds to last me til the 5th April, had to borrow a 20 spot off DH (who hasnt much but manages the foodbudgets etc) as I forgot the TV licence.

I dont think it helps we have to start paying the council tax again!
    Trying to shift that debt!
