plmbl You said DH knows 2 people going to the stag do. Can you give your number to the other person to?. And maybe send DH with some food to eat after or during the film. It will save money and make sure he has eaten.

And well done on the repayment to your sister:even better that some of it came from her :D

Thanks for that Pooh! The other guy that DH knows is someone else they went to school with. I've met him a few times at other weddings etc but it's not someone we have regular contact with. I can ask the groom to give him my number too though. DH has also agreed to put a bit of paper in his pocket that says his name, address, the fact he suffers from post head injury seizures and my details to contact me in case of an emergency. He has me listed as 'The Boss' in his mobile and whilst I like his thinking :p, I've asked him to change it to my name so it's easier for someone else to find in his contacts should they need to.

I lurk reading the digest :D but wanted to comment that if he locks his phone this wont make any difference in finding contact details. He should either put it as ICE details (In Case of Emergency) or NOK (Next Of Kin) but again makes no difference if the phone is locked to begin with. Not that I'm suggesting he removes phone locks, he shouldn't. But it might be possible to have it on lock screen either with an app, or something in phone settings.

Look at getting a medic alert set up, bracelet or other emblem, and wallet card. Believe this is free on low incomes.

*heads off to lurk again* :A
  • Hi Lifeforms, thank you so much for this! Please stay out of lurkdom as you always have such valid info! (Which I know you have offered me before and to my embarrassment I forgot about :o sorry :().

When I was thinking about the phone listing it was so the guys on the stag could find it, but you are 100% right about listing it as ICE/NOK too for the emergency services to find. Thank you :A. DH's phone is just set as 'slide to unlock' rather than requiring a pin number, so they wouldn't have too much bother gaining entry. I do know the other implications of an unlocked lost phone, but better that than DH forgot the pin and locked himself out of his phone!!

I will definitely look into the bracelet idea, wish I'd done it ahead of tomorrow (later today!!). It hadn't been seen as a 'need' before now as DH is always with either me, his Mum or his best friend. This is the first time he will be 'on his own'.

As you can see from me posting at 3.45am, I'm finding it hard to sleep! In all honesty, I don't usually sleep too well on a Thursday night as I find it difficult to switch off and wind down after work, however, tonight is definitely worse due to worrying about DH :(.

As far as work goes, I've been asked to change my working evening to a Friday in order to keep my 3 hours per week. I've agreed even though this isn't as good for me, but we will manage. £20 is £20!!

  • Happy Friday :D

Yes ICE or NOK is ideal on his mobile. This option is a bit extreme... :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope you're not too tired today. Try to get out for a wee walk or something to clear your head. And try not to worry!

  • Thanks for the info on the Argos bracelet Tuna :A Will definitely get one sorted. I hope all goes well for your DH tomorrow too.

HAW, perhaps that is ever so slightly OTT :rotfl:.

Well it's been a non-stop day and I'm shattered already! Went to gym this morning and burnt 650 cals. I did suggest missing it today to DH as he had such a busy day, but he insisted he wanted to go. This afternoon he had an appointment which the psychologist arranged for us with his colleague who facilitates courses on building confidence and self esteem. DH had said he wasn't ready to attend a course in a room full of other people, so they have very kindly agreed to work one on one with him. I think from our initial meeting today that this is going to be very beneficial for him :j.

I dropped DH off at his friend's house at about 3.30pm and they got the bus in to town together. I've heard from him a few times since and I'm quite calm -so far!!
