Can relate to that stuff about the car (unfortunately!!). OH drives for a living. But if on the odd occasion I'm driving him about, I'm only milli-seconds away from slamming on the brakes, getting out of the car and yelling 'Fine then! YOU drive!' Drives me batsy (pardon the pun) :p

And yes, my OH is always right and nothing is ever, ever, EVER his fault :o

Are we with the same guy?!?

Let him be short tempered, but just clear out of the room and make sure you shut the door so he doesn't follow nor keep talking to your back! Say you'll be back when he's calmed down and willing to talk sensibly like an adult! :D

Lol HAW, yes it sounds like we ARE with the same guy :rotfl:

Unfortunately, it's the kids he's been short with in the last hour or so it's harder to 'let him be short tempered'. We have a system where I say a code word to jolt him out of his 'red fog'. Don't know how many more times I can say the word spinach today :rotfl:

lol :) Yeah OH can be rather short with his girls too! We always look forward to his weekly 'boys club' (or 'old mans club' ;)) every week, so us girlies get the house to ourselves for a few hours :rotfl: Have to say it generally does be rather peaceful for that time! ;):D

Sorry to hear about you being messaed about with your hours. I hope you find some satisfaction affter talking to your boss. Maybe explain that you can't do ad hoc because of the difficulties of getting someone to be with DS2 and DH when you are at work?

And hugs for having to put up with Mr Grumpy. My DH did 2.5 days work this week and I spent one day just being me with no hassles and not trying to have to second think everything :D

  • Pooh that sounds divine! Hope you made the most of it!! My boss knows all about my situation and so far she's bent over backwards for me, so I'm hoping it will all be ok.

Today has been a total contrast to yesterday. DH has been in a lovely mood and the kids have been (almost!) angels. We met up with Grandma, Auntie (who had my cousin's son with her much to DS1's delight!) Mum, Mum's friend and MIL at the coffee shop which was nice as always. Gave my Grandma her Mother's Day card today as she has decided not to come over tomorrow. We then got me some new trainers :j:j Finally, my 10 year wait is over :D and it's like walking on matresses compared to my old ones :rotfl: The best part was MIL insisted on paying £20 towards them to make me the same as DH last week, so they only cost me £18 :D.

Afterwards, we went to Mr A's to get a few bits for tomorrow's buffet. While we were there DH and the boys disappeared with MIL, and reappeared with some flowers for me for Mother's day - then put them in the trolley for me to pay for them :rotfl:. They were only £5 so I was doubly thrilled, a lovely gesture and it didn't break the bank . I bought my Mum some euros for Mother's Day as she is off on at least 3 holidays this year, probably more! I lose count! For MIL I got a pot plant, chocolates and a yankee candle gift set. All bargainous :T. I'm looking forward to giving all the gifts tomorrow.

Tonight I've been cooking up a storm! Made curry for tea which was delicious and some slimming world "onion bhajis" which are gorgeous. I've also made a corned beef and potato pie for tomorrow's buffet.

Gonna catch up on the diaries now Xx

Sounds like you had a lovely family day, Be Lucky, and you finally got your new trainers (well done again, MIL). :D

Hope you also have a great Mummy's Day tomorrow.. :)
  • Thanks Robin!

Had a good morning so far, DH got up with the boys and I laid in until 8am. Both boys had made me cards and had bought one between them. Randomly, they both made me bookmarks at school/playgroup and I love them both. I couldn't possibly use one and not the other so my book now has 2 markers in it :D.

It's the calm before the storm now as I have a slight lull in proceedings before the rabble arrive.

    Heavy snow here today

Hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day Xx

It sounds like yesterday was a lovely day. You deserve more like that :)

The boys cards and bookmarks they have made themselves are the special things in life.
I still have bookmarks mine made at pgroup or school. I can't throw them out :D Obviously well made to last this long.

It is snowing here and all the fields are white. It looks magical. Luckily all the roads are completely clear.

I hope you continue to have a lovely day.

  • Thanks Pooh, we've had a lovely day despite my Mum ringing 30 mins before everyone was due to say she and her fianc! would be late, but she didn't know how late . In the end, they were only half an hour late so it was manageable and folk didn't get too hungry.

Food was fab and despite me making slimming world food, I've still consumed far too many calories, thanks to my sister supplying 2 puddings, custard, cream and chocolates :o.

Company was great, boys were well behaved and everyone loved their presents. :D Today has been a NSD too :T Xx

..Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday, Be Lucky; am so glad - you deserve many more like that! :D

(And by the time you're my age, you'll have a wonderful collection of keepsakes from your boys to prompt good memories :)).
  • Aw sounds like a really lovely day! Glad you were fussed over! :D

Never mind the slimming world! Yesterday was your day. Back on track today again sure ;)
