    Hi Be Lucky,

Ah, dear, hopefully the bug is wearing off - you've all had it now, haven't you? Better keep an eye on MIL in case she gets it (likely to be more severe for her). Pass round the rehydration-salts mixture..

It's here too; DIL3 got it from school last week, and DS3 started throwing up in the night - so they're staying away from the Nest to avoid passing it this way. :o

Oh dear, you still sound very weak and under the weather - and even though OH is doing his best it sounds as if he is struggling as well. I've heard it said that following a head injury that the brain eventually regenerates itself and creates new neurons to replace the damaged ones, so lets hope that's the case.

It must be great to see the weight coming off, it's something you have real control over and the rewards are steady and consistent, so go you Girl. xx

Hi plmbl, I hope you are feeling better by now. And that your boys are back to full strength too. We have a poorly DGD now so I can appreciate and remember how difficult it is when you are feeling under the weather yourself too.

Well done on the weight loss. I wish I had your will power. Since I gave up SW I have gained.

  • Thanks for all the get well wishes :A

Robin, sorry to hear your DS and DIL are poorly too. Hope they feel better soon and it passes you by. MIL said there was no point in avoiding us now as we see her almost every day so it's likely she already has the bug if she is going to get it, if you see what I mean.

Dot I'm still weak but getting better. That said, I have very little appetite so passed on dinner this evening. It's there for later if I want it, but I feel it's more likely to become lunch for tomorrow. I did have a jacket potato at lunchtime today when I met up with my Mum and Grandma etc. (Already had bug, not infecting them!!).

Pooh I hope your DGD gets well soon. You feel so helpless when they are little don't you?! The one good thing about the way the bug descended this weekend was that it didn't affect DS2 too badly. I'd rather be floored than for him to be really ill.

Today I made the effort and went out. I felt bad that the boys had been stuck in all day yesterday so we met my family as I mentioned before and MIL came too. We then went to the outlet shop to get DH new trainers. If I had the energy, I'd be really annoyed about this! As I've whinged about before, my trainers are about 10 years old. Dh got new ones before christmas. Apparently they now hurt his feet and on closer inspection this is because they are half a size too small . He promised they fit when he got them, but they obviously didn't. T'was more the case of I want them so I'm having them! Anyway, MIL went halves on the new trainers (think she took pity on me!) so they cost me £20. I told DH in no uncertain terms that he will not get more if these turn out to be 'wrong' in any way in a couple of months!! I swear it's like having three kids not two!!

DH is out for a coke tonight at the local with his best mate. :D

Your DH sounds so like mine it's scary :rotfl::rotfl:But mine always wants new trainers when we are on holiday???? Obviously the ones locally are not good enough for him. The ones we bought in September didn't fit by November?? And they started to come apart at the seams. As we bought them in Oban we couldn't return them.

I think I should be feeling his toes in his shoes just like I did for the kids when they were little but that would be belittling for him so I won't.

  • Funny you should say that Pooh, DH (of his own accord :j) asked the guy in the trainer shop if they had a foot measuring guide so he could check he was getting the right size. The guy said no as it differs between styles of trainer, but then proceeded to do the the 'finger test' on DH and declared the ones he was wearing a good fit! We've been to the gym this morning and DH said they are so comfy it's like running in slippers! He was grinning like a dog with two *ahem* tails :D. I really must get new trainers. Mine are more like running on broken glass than in slippers .

Hello :D Just got caught up!

Hmmmm yeah why do kids do that? They want, they moan, they get, regardless of stuff actually fitting or not! OH bought DD2 hiking boots Christmas year ago. She wore them once. Decided they didn't fit. So he passed them on to someone else and went and bought a new pair in January. They've still got the label on them

I need new trainers too. I walk to work so shoes/pumps wear too quick. Decided a few months ago I'd just get black trainers to wear to/during/from work. Sorted! Only problem was, I spied a wee pair in Dunnes which were dirt cheap. But you get what you pay for :p Need another pair now!!! :o Maybe spend a liiiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit more this time! ;)

Hope you're feeling much better today :D
