  • Aw thanks Dot! It's really all about having my head in the right place, meal planning, varying what I eat and having plenty of 'good' snacks in. The gym is definitely helping too Xx

  • Lol MiT, love it. One of my friends always says "I'm not fat, I'm under-tall" but at 5'9 I can't use that one :D

Today has been spent doing little jobs that I never quite seem to get round to. We have a huge unit that the tv sits in, but everything seems to get thrown in the cupboards or drawers of it. It was getting to the stage where I was frightened to open a door for fear of an avalanche :o. It's now spick and span and all books/dvd's/games etc in order. The kids toys that were taking over the dining room are now put away in their rooms ahead of having guests on Sunday, and bags of clothes the boys have grown out of have been put up in the loft.

It's been a NSD so far but that will change later as I need to collect a few bits from Mr A's when I finish work.

  • Work was very busy tonight :( Foot is so sore I can hardly stand on it!

So everyone has been told that we are losing part of the department where I work, and we need to lose A LOT of staff hours from the department too. Some of the girls have volunteered to move to other parts of the store, but most people have to lose hours too. I thought I'd be ok having just cut my hours from 10 to 3 per week, but I was called in to a meeting with the big boss tonight and he basically wanted to move me elsewhere so I could 'do more hours'. I explained that I didn't actually want more hours, so it sounds like I'm just going to be used 'as and when' instead. This means I might not get regular hours each week. I don't know how I feel about this, and I will reserve judgement until I speak to my boss about it too. Nothing changes until the end of April anyway.

Spent £38 after work so have gone over budget again. And that's before I buy anything for sunday :(

Feeling a bit like :(:(:mad::(:( tonight. I think Aunt Flo is probably on her way again!

Bummer about work. You don't really need that worry hanging over your head. Hopefully something more steady will work out once everyone else has been shifted about!

And ditto to the glass of vino :D:D:D

    Happy Friday :)

  • Thanks everyone . Mummytogirls, I did get carers allowance granted, so to add some perspective I am only talking about £20 per week down if I don't get any hours at work one week. That's not too bad, but on the otherhand £20 can get us lots of things or reduce the debts too. I've also randomly been offered occasional work at the playgroup but it would only be for last minute cover for sickness etc so that's not ideal either, as some weeks there may be too many hours and weeks and weeks with none :(.

Been to the hospital with DH this morning to see the endocrinologist. All seems ok but 2 nurses struggled to get blood out of him and it caused him obvious pain. This then put him in a rotten mood and to be honest he has upset me quite a bit this afternoon. He's given me lots of "constructive criticism" shall we say, but the worst bit was when he totally lost it at the petrol station. We had finished filling up but the person infront of us had been having problems and hadn't even started. Meanwhile, someone had pulled up behind us so we were boxed in, but I'd already clocked the driver of another car at the front of the queue in the kiosk, so I knew it wouldn't be long and we'd be able to get out of the diagonal gap they would leave in a few minutes. This wasn't good enough for DH though and he launched himself out the car and started gesticulating wildly at the car behind to move back so we could reverse out. I was so embarrassed. When she did eventually do so, we were still unable to get out as we weren't able to get past the queue for the next pump so DH started shouting at me to drive through the planted border . I was livid. We drove to the gym in silence and when we arrived I told DH that I understood that he missed being able to drive, and that indeed he was (believe it or not after that!) a very good driver, but while I'm behind the wheel then it's my call. I do not need him to 'direct me' with helpful comments such as 'what you need to do/should do is...' or 'go now, go on, you can easily overtake now..' Etc etc. He apologised and said that when he is 'in the moment' all that matters is that he is right and everyone else is wrong, but afterwards he realises what an @rse he's been. He has been a bit better since our talk but he is still very short tempered :(

    *hug*

Can relate to that stuff about the car (unfortunately!!). OH drives for a living. But if on the odd occasion I'm driving him about, I'm only milli-seconds away from slamming on the brakes, getting out of the car and yelling 'Fine then! YOU drive!' Drives me batsy (pardon the pun) :p

And yes, my OH is always right and nothing is ever, ever, EVER his fault :o

Are we with the same guy?!?

Let him be short tempered, but just clear out of the room and make sure you shut the door so he doesn't follow nor keep talking to your back! Say you'll be back when he's calmed down and willing to talk sensibly like an adult! :D
