Huge hugs plmbl. I am sorry I wasn't here yesterday.
A lot of the feelings that both you and your DH have are so very familiar to me. You have had loads of really good advice from very helpful people on here. I would definitely speak to DH's GP yourself. I keep notes to help me to remember what to say. It is only because I phoned for advice that DH now has a counsellor.
I phoned Mind who were very helpful and led me to another organisation who were funded by NHS. DH's counsellor phones me for updates. He has given written permission, we are not breaking any confidentiality rulesbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hello Lucky. I don't have any experience or advice to add but just wanted you to know I'm sending positive vibes your way.

Satchmo that's horrendous! at removing it without anaesthetic!! I'm so sorry to hear what you were both subjected to.
We had great 'service' when DH was in hospital, but the wife of the guy in the next bed wouldn't say the same. He was in after being beaten over the head by someone he had a feud with and was recovering from an operation to fuse his skull back together . Like DH, he was very confused but also under police protection, so they had a sitter in their room to watch both of them. Unlike DH though, he refused to wear pyjamas/joggers etc and had his jeans, jacket and trainers on. Somehow, he got out of not only their room but out of the locked ward too and went missing. They think someone held the door open for him on their way in to the ward as he looked more like a visitor than a patient in his 'normal gear'. His wife was in bits! They found him several hours later at his sons school. Gawd knows how he got there as he had no money and it was 7 miles away!! He never came back to the ward so I don't know what happened next.
Pooh I know you know what it's like. I think you cope brilliantly :A. I also have a permission set up with DH's psychologist, but as DH and I are at different Dr's surgeries, (long story), it's not easy for me to speak to his Dr alone even though I'm normally there for every appointment anyway. However, I've made an appointment (6th March ) and I plan to do some of the talking at first, then step out of the room for a while. If I feel DH is getting worse I will take him to see the emergency doc.
Fortune, thank you for the positive vibes. They are much appreciated.
So things have been a bit better today, but in a contradictory way. DH has been quite forgetful, which sounds bad on paper but in reality it's meant he has been more mellow. He remembers that he has been bad tempered though and has tried to keep on top of it and theres only been one occasion today when I had to ask him to calm down. I told his Mum today what he was like yesterday and she's been very supportive which is good, as I was worried she might take it badly. She's been with DH tonight as I've been at work and all seems fine.
On a positive note, a lovely neighbour who I do a few favours for posted £20 through the door with a note telling us to do something fun on her! I gave the boys the choice and they plumped for softplay and maccy D's (boys only, DH and I still being good) so that's what we did today before I went to work.

 Wondering if it might help DH to read some of those Headway links that explain the stages he can expect during recovery?
Or it might assist him more to have a mentor who is further along the road to discuss it all with (and then again next week, if his short term memory is still umm, very short)?please-let-me-be-lucky wrote: »On a positive note, a lovely neighbour who I do a few favours for posted £20 through the door with a note telling us to do something fun on her!
Yay - trickle or cascade; system works!0 -
Yes Robin, I should have said, I read DH the paragraphs for Headway that Satchmo quoted on the evening she wrote them, and we discussed them and agreed how spot on they were. DH has agreed to browse the website himself and then we will contact them for further help.
Today I got a bonus from work for 'all my hard work in 2012'. Wait for it ..... £36.33 :rotfl:. Can't complain really as it's pro-rata and I only did 10 hours per week, but the full timers got hundreds of pounds. Anyway, I paid £25 of it to my sister and the rest to the LTSB card. You can't miss what you didn't have!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Yey to the bonus and the lovely neighbour.
So sorry to hear OH and as a result you are having a hard time at the moment. You have had some great advice and so all I can add to it is keep doing what you are doing my lovely and things will sort out in the end.
I'm sure OH is frustrated with himself and its always easier to take it out on those closest as they usually won't judge us.
Big hugs

Yay, for the treat from your neighbour. And for the bonus. I am pleased DH has been a bit more settled.
I hope that today is a good day for you all.
It is a great idea to go with DH on his appointments. If he is happy with it.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Thank you Granny and Pooh!
Yesterday was better. Ds1 and I were at the dentist and then MIL watched the boys for a couple of hours so DH and I could get to the gym. I think it was a welcome time out for him.
I've been up half the night with a poorly DS1 though. Who knew one 8 year old could puke so much and for so long?!. I wasn't looking forward to my 12-8 shift before and I'm certainly not now. To make things worse, my plantar fasciitis is bad today and I'm already limping, so 8 hours on my feet will be hell. And we have snow
. I'm a real barrel of laughs today!!
On a positive though, this will be my last Saturday at work :j.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Poor DS1
and poor you too
. I hope you managed some sleep and that DS1 is feeling better soon.
Brilliant about it being your last day at work. I hope you manage okay.
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it but you should look up your local carers association. They are another great support mechanism and offer other things like days out for the kids or the whole family. At least ours does. Now that I have mentioned it to you I am going to join mineshould have done it 20 years ago.
