  • Thank you Mummy, Robin and Granny, we have had a fab day!

The farm was awesome and worth the money, despite it being quite an expensive day out overall! I had a 10% off voucher but that's not a massive saving when a family ticket turned out to be £26.50 . Anyway, the boys have tried their hand at falconry, bottle fed orphaned baby goats, held bearded dragons, cuddled meercats, seen newborn (within minutes!) baby lambs and so much more. I could go on and on! Then on top of that they have been on bouncy castles, trampolines, indoor soft play, outdoor climbing frames/slides and go-karts etc! The weather has been great once again and lots of new memories made.

Tonight I've been with the Beavers to a district badge night. I will never complain again about the noise from my group! 50+ Beavers is way worse :rotfl:

Wow that sounds like a fantastic family day out, Be Lucky! And pretty good value for the price, especially with the discount voucher - so well done. :T

Hi PLMB, do you keep an eye on Group0n (via a cashback site, of course)? They have local discounts. It's best to only look if you have cast-iron resolve not to buy only NEEDS or planned leisure activities.

There was a falconry handling offer some time back, sorry it has gone now. Don't let DH look, haha, and don't look yourself if it would lead you into temptation!

Last year I got an 8 week boot camp course for £12, bargain plants for my garden, and sent my sister flowers for Christmas for £25 - they would have cost £20 from M&5 and the petrol would have been £50 so a bargain for me.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Hi satchmo, yes Gr0up0n is a dear friend of mine lol! I too got a few christmas presents for people from there, including 5 personalised photo calendars for about £15 for the boys to give Grandparents/Aunties etc and they went down a treat! My main problem is dithering over whether to buy days out vouchers and then they expire when I decided to go for it :o.

We are off swimming this morning which should be a free activity as DH will get it as part of his gym membership, I'll be free as his carer and the kids are free as part of a government keep kids fit deal. Everyone's a winner!!

Weigh day today too. Hopefully I will hit the stone mark today :D.

Hope everyone has a good day Xx

Love the sound of free swimming sessions Be Lucky; fun, good for everyone, and hopefully the boys will tire themselves out and sleep well tonight. :)

Look after that big yellow ball, won't you. ;)
  • Oh dear Robin, I appear to have lost the big yellow ball already :(. I had it when we went into the pool and it was gone when we came out! Perhaps it drowned .

Swimming ended up costing 95p :rotfl:. I can live with that for 2 hours of family fun :D.

Home now and I've got a big pan of veg and lentil soup on the go. Think we are going to snuggle up and watch a dvd this afternoon Xx

It is lovely to read about you having such a great and cheap weekend.
I am pleased you are taking advantage of free entry as a carer. You will find it will get you many fun days out. I can only manage a short time in many situations so getting a helper in free is a huge help to me, usually to carry my chair as I won't use a wheel chair :D

  • Lost 1.5lbs tonight so 13.5lbs in total over 5 weigh ins! Just short of the stone mark. DH has lost 4lbs today and has lost exactly a stone. So he is in the lead this week :mad::mad:. Not that I'm bitter :rotfl:.
