Brilliant news about the Carers Allowance. Does that mean you can ditch the part-time work?

I wonder if DH could be asked to "take a look at" the budget spreadsheet to find ways to make some savings. In the spirit of positive psychology, and so that he feels he is being useful. Tell him that you haven't been able to find the money for the bike repair, but you're sure he'll be able to see something you have overlooked.

Of course, you'd know whether that's too much and might backfire and send him into a spin.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Glad it's not just me then :rotfl:.

Had a really good day so far! In a nutshell:-
Paid final credit card bill for the month, so total debt now £10,485 :D This is about £300 down on last month so I'm pleased with that! If I can keep that kind of momentum up I should be in the 9k's by April :j. As a side note, £700 of that debt is what I still owe my sister, but I'm really pleased with how that is reducing. When she loaned me the £1k she said to pay her back 'whenever' so to have managed £300 in little dribs and drabs is great.
I weighed in the bag of shoes sis had donated to me and got £2.69. Every little helps :D
DH got weighed and has lost a pound in spite of his pudding frenzy on Sunday! I'm hopeful I will lose lots when I weigh in later as I avoided pudding-gate. Fingers crossed! Will report back later!
Called in to see my Auntie and Uncle which was great as I always enjoy their company, but even better, Uncle has gifted DH his mountain bike after hearing on the grapevine that DH had wanted a bike and he's only used it twice since new! It's very generous of them as they wouldn't take anything for it and it's a really good one. I will try to learn how to ride it when the better weather comes too :p.

So that's about it so far! Hoping the good day continues when I get to fat class!
