I think it is a bit hit and miss, as I phoned Barclaycard to make a complaint on behalf of my Mum. It took 7 weeks from the phone call to her recieving a cheque for £600ish, although her account is still active and she was paying ppi. This was just recently as well.

My delay is probably due to the fact they had to send for information from the archives, also the loan i complained about would have probably been tagged on to other loans that were paid off early only to renew for home improvements or car etc. Will give them another month and see if anything turns up. Have had everything else upheld so fingers crossed.
  • I've had problems with Barclay's too.
I was told i would receive a response by the 27 April. I did get a letter in the post. They told me that they are currently investigating my complaint and are yet to reach a resolution. They are waiting for records relating to the sale of the PPI. The delay is due to a high volume of cases etc etc. They have given me an option to go to the ombudsman if i want too. Not really sure if it would speed things up or not ?? They haven't given me another date that they will respond by, so does this mean it's open for them to respond whenever they want. Little frustrating :(

This is where I've been for the past 7 months.

At least i've now got them to accept that there's no info coming from archives after 7 months, but the way their systems are set up, a manager/director had to 'tick' that info has been received (even though it hasn't) before the system would let them continue.

Glad its not just me then! I have filled in all the paperwork and sent it all off in Feb. To date I have had 3 letters telling me they are still investigating. The other claims I sent away at the time have all settled. No one can tell me anything when I phone and someone suggested a letter threatening legal action but not sure if I want to do that. If MBNA can settle and Lloyds, why can't Barclays? I feel like they are just holding off hoping they never have to pay up?

I've had a claim in since the start of March 2012. I got a letter back on the 14th of March stating they would have an update or agreement by the 27th of April 2012 and I've heard nothing. I sent off my complaint to the ombudsman last week. Hope that they respond soon as the PPI is still running even though I asked them to cancel it in March.

How did you speak to someone at the director's office? I've been on hold for many months through the director's office and they won't call me as promised. Just when they were meant to make a decision at the beginning of May they passed it to a higher office. I'm told its to make things fair for me.

They have my statements, they have my schedule, but they won't uphold.

My claim has been on hold since Oct 2011 and at the directors office since Feb 2012 !!!

Finally, i'm getting something back but will have to wait for the offer letter.

It's taken the rework team 8 months and altogether 11 months.

Great news Tifo, gives me a bit of hope, my claim was reopened in January and still waiting although when phoning yesterday she said it was definately being dealt with at the right place and I will eventually get a reply, keep us updated and well done.
