Has anyone had any success with Barclaycard PPI claims?

Hi all,

I have wrote a similar thread on here recently but all I want to know is if anyone has actually had any recent success with claiming from Barclaycard? And if so what was your original claim date etc.

Thanks :)

    Hi there

    Wishing you luck.

Lots and lots have had dealings with these, and will hopefully post soon.

    Good luck with yours.;)

Thanks di3004...I can see that Barclaycard are quite infamous for their delays! I don't see what their problem is when other banks respond much faster.

as I said on the other thread, my claim has been ongoing since July 2011 and even though they have all the info they need and asked for, they still won't make a decision.

tifo have you taken this to the FOS? Or even called the PPI direct line and asked for a manager? That wait is just ridiculous!
  • Barclaycard themselves have said they will look into ppi claims and take no longer than 16 weeks. it's on the Barclays website(co.uk) just type ppi in the search bar. Hope this helps
  • i know of three people claiming via Barclaycard, all three have had letters saying they are inundated and are promising to respond by a certain date, two of them have had second letters within a couple of days saying they will respond but are snowed under but they have not included a date on this.
both have lodged a complaint with the oft.

Yes, I've spoken to 2 managers and am told the same thing:- it wouldn't be fair on other customers to issue a response to me until they have checked 'everything' and I've openly told them they're only looking for a reason to decline which they can't find and won't be able to.

I wouldn't take it to the FOS because of the long delay, I'd issue in court and let them respond within timescales. I've told them I'll do this soon and am waiting for info on where to send court documents.

This is the worst bank I've ever dealt with.

I've spoken to the FSA who can't do anything even though the bank is breaching their rules. They want me to go to the FOS but did advise to contact the OFT as well re documentation.

I've just rang them again for an update it's now 11 weeks since they recieved my complaint, they said there's nothing more to tell me at this stage, they say they have all the imformation they need from egg and me, the same thing they told me 2 weeks ago when I rang, I really don't understand whats taking them so long if they have all the information they need, they just keep telling me they're snowed under...it's a joke.....

    Thanks everyone...some good advice there.
Looks like they will take as long as they take. I too would rather not go sown the FOS route as I know that they are alsop extremely busy so I doubt anything would be speeded up.
I suppose I will see if it goes past 16 weeks and then action further....what a nightmare!
