With regards to the health food shops for RE/MF, are we allowed to take the item back for an exchange? I won't be using what I bought (and no one I know uses it either) and it would be a shame for it to be thrown away.

You have to post off the receipt to RE/MF so I'm not sure if you'd be able to get an exchange without the receipt. Plus you have to reveal yourself as an MS at the end, it might be awkward to go back after and they might have been told not to exchange items bought in MS scenarios.

Thanks for the reply. I read the returns information when I did mine yesterday, it says you can return without a receipt for an exchange if item has not been opened etc.

Oh and I meant take back to another store, not the same one. Eeeeek, that would be painful.
  • Does anyone know whether the expensive sparkly glass jewellery/animal ornaments shops can be returned? Mine is a small store and all the things I was looking for weren't stocked. There was nothing under about £35, so I had to buy one of them but its resale value on ebay is less than £20!!

The brief specifically says you can't return it unless faulty. Sorry lovey.
  • Just did a TNS quickie and discovered some of the pasta pots were two days out of date! I did inform a MOS, but do you guys think I should mention it somewhere on the report too?

Also, if anyone's wondering, I took the chance and visited the big store on Saturday that I'd booked for Friday, and they said that was fine - cheers TNS :)

There are questions on product freshness/appearance, but not on the section where I found the pasta pots (with the sandwiches) - I really feel that I ought to mention it somewhere though, as that's pretty bad!

I would mention it Heavens Devil, if TNS do not want to report it to the client then that is their choice but if it was my business I would want to know!

Quite what I thought - I'm pretty sure there are also laws about selling out of date goods without clear notification, and even then I've never seen them in "proper" big-name supermarkets, just mainly in pound shops and newsagents and the like. I stuck a quick afternote regarding the matter in the section where I commented on the specific sections of the store, as if I were the client, I'd want to know too!

Depends, as I understand it if it was a best before it's no problem being after the date as it's just a guideline. A sell by date item must not be sold after the date.
