bicarb and vinegar together make a wonderful limescale remover
put some in your kettle and see the reaction of them both together
pour down drains and it clears them
vinegar on its own doesnt cause the fizzing needed to "burn" it off nor the bicarb on its own
but I dont have limescale probs
I was talking about soap scum build up in the machine and bicarb shifts it fine ive put the hose into the sink and you should see what comes out in clumps!! ;D0 -
I looked for some bicarb in Asda yesterday but there's none there - people don't make cakes in the same way now do they?
Cathy - Thanks! I'll look in Boots (though they're usually expensive.....)
I like the idea of all that fizzing, must try that!!!Torgwen.....................

if you put some bicarb down the sink say 3 tablespoons and then pour some vinegar down brown or white it all froths out and cleans the drain and u bend a treat
wonderful for shower trays and bath plug holes
;D
student will probably correct me but I like to see the fizzing makes me think somethings going on.
re bicarb
I bought a huge jar of it in booker for £1.80 and its still going strong after about a month onlyused about a 1/4 of it
and weve just had a massive spring clean here as we got a conservatory done and everywhere was a mass of muck and dust from when the wall was taken down so we could get into the blasted thing
and all I used was bicarb vinegar and borax recon the whole shabbang cost me about 75p to clean the house top to bottom
a good side effect from this is that a friend of ours who comes to see us every year has developed asthma at the ripe old age of 50
the last two years he was unable to stay here and they had to go to a hotel, he thought it was the dog or cat though they have one of their own, but as soon as hed walk in here he felt he couldnt breathe
this year hes fine theyve booked out of the hotel and are here with us now, no tight chest no panic, I think its cos my house is chemical free well as much as it can be cos i was always using branded cleaners and bleach etc and before anyone came to stay id go through the house like a dose of salts using all that stuff
no wonder I used to get sore hands !!!!0 -
Hi Cathy
How do you go about getting a card for bookers please?
Thanx
HeldazI never knew saving money was so much fun)

well I had a very hard time in my bookers they want 2 invoices from other companies
yet someone else said theirs just takes a buisness card
in the end someone off these boards sent me theirs which they get every year as they have shares in "the big food company" who own bookers
so I bought 2 shares in them (£1,80 per share) and im waiting for my new card lol
best to ring yours and ask what they need for you to open an account
I even said I was doing bed and breakfast here but they wanted a letter off my accountant !!
sheesh0 -
ouch
there doesnt seem to be any easy way of doing it then.
how did you go about buying the shares? that seems to be the easiest way.I never knew saving money was so much fun)

just phone your bank and instruct them to buy a share of a couple of shares in "the big food company2 for you
