Oooh, just looked at Asda online, Smartprice malt vinegar is 16p for a pint (568ml!) A gallon for £1.28!student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0

Check that it is white vinegar student100. Whilst normal brown vinegar will do the job, i find that it leaves a brownish tinge to the surface of the things you have cleaned. In itself is no problem with dark coloured surfaces, but paler surfaces definately need white vinegar.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. i never used to believe all this just about vinegar, but reading related links at the TMF and on this website, has made me think again.
i am off to buy some tonight.
p.s. My mum says a good sore throat /cold remedy is to drink a mixture of cider vinegar adn lemon juice and honey.0 -

pls can anyone suggest the best place to buy white vinegar? I have tried both Asda and morrisons- no luck.
Also where is a good place to buy bicarbonate of soda? Does any store sell an own brand/economy make?0 -
FARMFOODS SELL WHITE VINEGAR
if you have a makro or booker card you can buy it a lot cheaper but the farm foods one is 49 for a bottle
bicarb?? every shop will sell it look where the flour and baking products are
fantastic for indigestion as thats what rennies are
minty flavoured bicarb spoonful in a little water

Re the Bicarbonate of soda,
