Tried my local Chinese supermarket today (Win Yip, Manchester) following advice above :
5 ltrs Distilled Vinegar £ 2.25
3kg Bicarb soda £3.85
1 ltr lemon juice 99p
They also had HUGE boxes of washing powder at what looked like reasonable prices, and concentrated 5 ltr containers of just about every other type of cleaning product.
Now all I need is a cheapo remedy for strained arm muscles from carrying it all home !0 -

If you have any Asian supermarkets nearby they tend to do it in big bottles quite cheaply too :D0

Pickling is very good, its even better at grease cutting than normal vinegar. It would be brilliant on a floor for example, but dont forget it is likely to leave a brown residue on white surfaces,This is a system account and does not represent a real person. i've got a load of herbs growing on my windowsill and for some reason they attracted all these little black fly type things....didn't want to have to buy (or then eat!) a load of chemicals, so i sprayed them with the vinegar & water solution that i use for cleaning....and hey presto, no more little black flies, and herbs still alive & kicking!!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

this is my very first atempt at this. Good tip for cleaning windows. Add a couple of tablespoons of malt or white vinagar to a bucket of warm water, clean windows with this solution with a sponge and then rub dry with screwed up newspaper. result lovely smear free windows.0

Which one is best pricewise in Belfast? Lee Foods or Asia Supermarket?
Not sure. I used Cam Sing's last (off Lisburn Rd) but they didn't have any this week.
Where is Lee Foods?0
