For those who dont understand, I will spell it out.
For the 1st 6 months of a claim after working a person gets contribution based JSA based on their National Insurance Contributions( if they have paid enough). After the 6 months if they are still unemployed they move onto income based JSA dependent on their circumstances so get your facts right before you start saying things like STUPID. lol.

What dont you understand about this? its not difficult to grasp is it? Perhaps you should refrain from saying things like stupid because it makes you look very ignorant yourself.
Why do you think national insurance is called what it is.. I'll give you a clue-its all in the name.

The 'advisers' at my provider are on between £21-£24k and the BDC people can earn up to £30k! My provider does not sub contract out as I actually see them. Yeah grand total of 8 mins, the last time!

Not bad for doing nothing at all and with no job satisfaction because they can not do anything right or anything at all to get someone a job.

The WP providers are not 'working' for their fees at all. If I get a job off my own back because I can assure you there is nothing at all the WP have done for me except pay my fares to get to their offices then they will get paid for what exactley? Hmmm tricky one that.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience but I'm not totally surprised - I guess providers and advisors are different throughout the country. All I can say is that we quite often spend an hour plus with individual clients (mostly once a week). We help with CVs (if a CV hasn't got someone to interview after 6 months I would suggest the CV needs looking at again), cover letters, interview techniques, telephone techniques, questions/answers etc.

If your advisor isn't advising you, and helping you as suggested above (plus actively helping in your job search), complain.

In the years you were working you were applying for jobs every day?

I too have had more interviews in the months I have been out of work than the years spent at my last job because I was not looking but if I was I bet I've had had more. I even had agencies emailing me, I don't get that now
