What frustrates me is that the promotors could do something about this if they wanted.
I would guess pretty much everyone pays with a credit/debit card - all they need to do is print the tickets with the last four digits on them. Then they highlight that tickets will be checked randomly and that all ticket holders need to take their card with them.
They would also need to provide a facility for selling back tickets to the promotors for those genuine buyers who cannot attend, albeit with a 10% admin charge possibly.

Airline tickets work like this - its not unfeasible. They just can't be bothered. Frustration is that the genuine fan then lines the pockets of the so-called 'businesswomen' who have considered themselves acting with a conscience. Don't kid yerselves - you're profiting by exploiting passion of genuine fans.

Maybe you can't expect the promotors to do this, but surely the artist who 'cares for their fans' can have an influence if they really wanted to ?

Yes but then what happens when you cannot go or as in my case ,my friend and I both got lucky but we only wanted 2, there was no time for communication so ended up with 4.
And what about the people who live close to a venue, they have an unfair advantage....
I have got lucky with all tickets this year but I've prepared myself for it and done my homework...so who is anyone to say I cannot buy a couple more.... I am selling the cheaper option, i wouldn't sell the block B ones I got for myself for anything.

It wouldn't work. I've sold tickets that are for box office collection only by the supposedly card holder. All I've had to do is provide the booking confirmation details and a letter stating that the tickets were bought as a gift and would be picked up by 'whoever'. A lot of tickets are purchased by people for others, parents for sons, daughters, gifts for other etc.

I agree with you on this one. Why ticket promoters are excluded from the 7 day distant selling returns thingy I don't know !

So a new sports car gets released, limited edition of 100, and they all get snapped up. Someones gonna lose out aren't they. All the cream cakes in Asda are reduced, they all get snapped up. Someones gonna lose out aren't they. A loaf of bread costs pennies to produce but is sold for around a pound ? We're all losing out. I've a second property that I bought as an investment and rent out ? My tennant is losing out ? It just goes on and on !

I am a business woman. I provide a service. I work hard, make money and pay my taxes. Come to think of it, I'm even fairer than any of the ticket promoters out there as I only charge 99p for my tickets !! It's you genuine fans that pay my wages ! You don't have to offer more than the face value !

Besides, believe me, there's more than enough face value tickets around to meet the needs of every music fan out there. You just need to be that dedicated to your cause that you learn the ropes like I have, know where to look, and spend endless hours refreshing and refreshing days and months on end until you finally succeed and get hold of that ticket. Believe me, it's true. I don't mean to gloat, I'm just stating the facts. You WILL get a ticket if you stop posting on hear moaning about people making a living for themselves and instead spend your time, and maybe a lot of it, patiently hunting down those face value tickets !

I think we need to get real here. I really don't think there are many artists/bands that truly care about their fans to that extent. Their business people too at the end of the day. They've made their money, ticket promoters have made there money and the odd Ebayer has made their money. That's just how it goes.

Here's hoping I'm not offending people too much :o

Well done for getting the tickets bella4uk :)

Like you, I'm not selling my 'better' 2 tickets but the sales of the others will go towards my rare night out.

I'm taking my best friend, treating her for her birthday. I have many other friends I could take to use up the other tickets but, at the end of the day, I need the money and any extra profits would help.

I'm not a mean, lean selling machine. I did once lend a friend nearly £1000. I've never gotten it back. Sorry guys, it goes against my true nature but to hell with it, I look after myself now.

Just thought i would "butt in" on thread!

It's a fact of life that people will try and make money on anything that is in demand, can you really blame them? If people didn't buy the tickets/products etc at inflated prices, then this wouln't happen, but it does, get over it!

It reminds me of the WII thingy not so long ago, very sad!
Sponsored by Tesco Clubcard Points !!

    Hi carl310166,

Do you mean that you think it's sad that people were prepared to spend so much money on Ebay buying the Wii's or that it's sad that others were buying them specifically to sell ( Er, yes... I bought a few ;) )

Some people, please. Others have more important things to worry about.
    Can I help?

    Hi rdwarr,

The only thing I worry about is having to earn a living to keep a roof over the heads of my kids as I no longer have a partner to support me ! To me this is so important that I choose to buy things to try to sell at a profit !
