Take That Ticket Touts

Just back from Glasgow city centre where I queued for 3 hours to get my daughters tickets to see Take That in November. I am FURIOUS to find tickets for these gigs for sale on eBay for up to £600:mad: Some even have the audacity to put a picture of the ticket on eBay with the seat number and face value clearly showing (£45). Surely these tickets can be traced an the lowlifes selling them for such huge profits should be banned from ever purchasing another ticket for that venue again.
I have contacted the national newspapers asking them to look into this and publish the story in the papers and I would urge others to do the same. Until it is highlighted, they will continue to get away with it. The genuine fans of these acts are being robbed by the scum who purchase tickets for concerts just to make as much money as possible when selling them on.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get this in the press :A

There's no right or wrong aswer to this I don't think, though I appriciate it's a sensitive issue.
These people who start listings straight away or even before the general release dates are quite clearly touts trying to gain from supply and demand. I can't knock that, good luck to them. However, I do think they could be a little less tactless about it, waiting a little while at least and certainly not demaning Buy-it-Now prices !
People out there do require a service like Ebay where they can get the opportunity to purchase tickets at times other than 9.00am when they may be at work etc.
Also, and it's been made clear this morning, people may find through desperately buying any ticket for any date that they can, that they now have additional tickets other than their prefered dates. You can't blame them for trying to sell the spares ?
And, I would be ok with anyone purchasing tickets to sell to make up the money for them to go themselves if they couldn't otherwise afford it.0 -
it really is just supply and demand, if there is money to be made, people will take advantage of it.
It has been going on for centuries and you can't stop itl0 -
Yes fine, sell them if you got extra tickets, but for 10 times face value!!! No way. Scarletmist is a website where you can sell your tickets for face value or swap if you cannot make the gig. That I agree with.
So many are now purchasing tickets to make a quick buck and that is totally unfair to the genuine fans who ultimately end up missing the gig.
Unbelievable that tickets for sporting fixtures cannot be sold on ebay for over face value as it is a crime, but concert tickets can!!!0 -
Football tickets can't be sold for fear of hooliganism, people sitting in rival stands !0

1456 mostly double seat tickets being sold on ebay
that a lot0 -
Does anyone know why the other Take That ticket thread was closed?0

get a grip on yourself.
1st of all this is moneysavingexpert, so i hardly think posting take that ticket details on here is relevant. Where the money saving aspect?
2nd of all if it is relevant it must be because its a bargain, therefore they are worth more than face value therfore how can you complain?
This whole thing has nothing to do with ebay or internet ticketing.
For years it has been nigh on impossible to get tickets for top bands/shows, i remember spending hours on hold trying to buy tickets back in the 80s.
All thats changed is that rather than people selling them for ridiculous prices in the local papers they use ebay, a system where atgher than a set price in the paper, when using auction rather than buy it now, demand and market forces always sets the price.
Sorry you didnt get tickets, but clearly there are others more desperate to see take that than you, and going by ebay they are willing to pay more , therefore they deserve the tickets more than yourself.lacla1966 wrote:Yes fine, sell them if you got extra tickets, but for 10 times face value!!! Get a grip on myself?? What's your problem?? Are you one of the touts everyone is up in arms about??
Money saving aspect? Bringing the publics attention to the extortionate amounts of money being made by touts on eBay will save everyone who enjoys concerts money.
Worth more than face value? Are the promoters undercharging??
Nothing to do with eBay or the internet? It's eBay who are selling them. Funny how they withdrew all tickets being touted on their site for the Diana concerts and Live8 due to public demand!!
Many of us queued for hours for tickets in the 80's but at least we had a very good chance of actually getting them at face value from the venue.
Yes they are selling for ridiculous amounts and eBay are encouraging this to the detriment of genuine fans who are forced to pay up to 10 times the face value of the ticket to line some greedy lowlifes pocket.
And I DID get tickets. I queued for over 3 hours to get them for my daughters and only took the amount I needed and NOT what I was entitled to buy, meaning some genuine fan behind me in the queue had a chance of getting to see Take That at the price on the ticket. So please explain why others deserve tickets more than I do???0
